THE GRUDGE!

Sarah Michelle Gellar and Jason Behr will star in The Grudge, a remake of the Japanese horror film Ju-On. Takashi Shimizu, who directed the original, will helm again with a script by Stephen Susco. The premise centers on a supernatural curse that results when an individual died angry. The curse goes from victim to victim like a virus. The film will incorporate elements of the original film and its three sequels.

A new video from the set of The Grudge has turned up online. Filming took place at various locations in Tokyo and at Toho Studios. You can watch the almost 8-minute clip in Windows Media format here! The video also includes footage from the original film this is based on, the Japanese horror pic Ju-On.

The English remake stars Sarah Michelle Gellar, Jason Behr, KaDee Strickland, Clea DuVall, William Mapother, and Bill Pullman. The Grudge is directed by Ju-On helmer Takashi Shimizu and produced by Sam Raimi, Rob Tapert and Taka Ichise (Ringu).

The Grudge is the curse of one who dies in the grip of a powerful rage which gathers and affects the places in which that person lived. Those who encounter this murderous supernatural curse die and a new curse is born -- passed like a virus, from victim to victim in an endless, growing chain of horror.

Columbia Pictures is handling North American distribution for the movie and plans to release The Grudge in Fall 2004

I thought at first that was a big pink flower in front of JB but then I realized it was gift wrap. Gifting is very very big in Japan.

Some stuff is wildly expensive over there. SMG was talking in that one article about a bunch of grapes that cost something like $22, and if anybody dropped one, they'd say "Oh,oh, you just dropped $2.50!" [img]smilies/lol.gif[/img]
