KBs # X+Y=Huh?: Support Danie's bid for Concessional Travel! Buy a badge today!

Ok, new thread, blah blah blah.

From the old thread.....

Myrna--Logies is a stupid name, but like the Oscars, comes from some sort of ancient folklore whereby some office chick comes up with a nickname that sticks. I can't remember now, but I think Logie was the nickname of one of the forefathers of OZ TV. Doesnt matter, it's still lame.

Danie--as the title of this thread suggests, we will get you that concession card or die trying! If my nan, who is fitter than me can get low priced travel, then so can you! I'm available to picket and wave offensive placards outside the old Government House any time you are.

On a completely random note, it appears I am growing a dreadlock at the back of my head. I've been leaving my hair curly lately, because i cant be bothered straightening it everyday, and tonight I was scratching my melon, and there is a full on dreadlock. I have been washing my hair but finger combing it to maintain the curl so I think that might be the cause. Tomorrow I'm either snipping it or going at it with the brush. Stay tuned....

Rivetting stuff I know, post away BOBbies!

OH MY BOB! I GET A TITLE NAMED AFTER ME!!! Too funny Sarz, I nearly snorted my tea!

Well, I'm starting the treadmill of doctors, tests and bills again sadly. I can't understand that since I have all the symptoms of MS, that it's taken this long for someone to help me. You know when things are bad when you ring your local MS Society and they don't want a bar of you because you haven't been correctly diagnosed! Even they don't want me as a member of their club! ME?! I'd be a great person in their club!
So yes folks, Sarz and I will be protesting againist the Government to get MY CODE on the list of people ALLOWED to travel on a concession ticket! Buy a "Save Danie" badge available at all milk bars!

OK, enough silliness...

A dreadlock? Ouch! I used to get them when my hair was down to my bottom and they bloody kill... I wonder why I keep my hair shoulder-length or shorter! Plus, it saves time in the morning, but the price of styling products is no good.

Well, I'm off to see The Producers tonight and I will give you my review either tonight or tomorrow!

Hey Wen, yeah it's an Aussie thing to be nice to everyone! We love our "Yank-Aussies"!!

Hi Wen you're always welcome you know. Come by and play any time.

Danie are you saying you have MS? I thought you had a form of arthritis.

I enjoyed Michael Buble (look I can spell his name now ) He was lots of fun. He joked with the audience all the time and was very entertaining. He said how much he enjoyed being in Ahstrayliah coz he'd gotton to go to the Logies and dance with Delta Goodrem. I don't think he'll ever be the same again Music was good. He used a small jazz group of musos. Money well spent.

Mezz you SAW Michael Buble? I am soo jealous! I wanted to go see him but by the time I had enough money his concert was sold out!
Aggravation!
He's singing all my favourite songs...especially "Sway"...I'll remain a Dean Martin Fan but when Buble sings it it makes me soon.

Answer me this...the song "Sway"...what movie was it featured in? I know its in a few so if you can name all the possibilities I'll be eternally greatful...it's been driving me absolutely bonkers...

To the last posts in the last thread...My brother WAS a sweetie...now that he's turned 18 he's a complete idiot. but I was glad nevertheless that he understood.

Let me comment that the Logies bores the hell out of me. Even last years BB winner said it was a total bore.

Well, Mezzie, it WAS arthritis... but Arthur has left the building it seems and have been replaced with this myelin-munching thing that is slowly eating my muscles and my nerves! It's a pooh bum really! It's an alien, I'm sure! Damn you Max Evans.

I sick of Michael Bubble, Boobie, Booblay. But to answer Katherine's question, "Sway" was in a movie called "Dark City" with Ruffus Sewell, Jennifer Connolly and Keifer Sutherland - I love that film, especially Richard O'Brian playing the nasty "Sleep, yes?" Mr. Hand... just makes me wanna 'jump to the left and then step to the right, put my hands on my hips and pull my knees in right'... but NO pelvic thrusting. I'm a lady afterall.

My older sister really pisses me off

Got home from buying food to find my little sister crashed out on the couch, she has a middle ear infection and a friend dropped her off at my place. She was told by the doctor that she wasn't to drive which left us with the problem of how to get her car home which was at her work about 20mins drive away.

So i phone up my other sister to see if she could drive us down to where the car is. Well after trying for about 3 hours i finally get through to her and i just knew the moment i asked that she didn't want to drive us and now had the ****s. Anyway we were waiting for about 40mins then the phone rang and my older sister wanted to know where we were...she was waiting for us to come up to her place. I was under the impression that she realised that i wanted her to come here as going up to her place would have been back tracking. She eventually showed up and all the way to where my little sister works i could hardly get her to say very much. So i never even bothered to ask if she was going to follow us to our little sisters place. So i ended up catching a bus home.

Mind you the other week my little sister had asked me to go up to Miranda shopping with her and Mandy, she asked my over a week before to go. Then the day before we were to go my older sister asked me if i could drive her and my brother-in-law to a wedding and pick them up afer the same day we were to go to Miranda, they'd known about the wedding for months of course. So being the nice person i am i drop all my plans to take them....and she can't even do the nice thing and drive her sick little sister home

Ok i've finished my little rant.

Danie - i'm buying my "Save Danie Badge" and getting my sign read to protest for you.

Wen - i forget people lurk...this from a compulsive lurker Please join in...glad you liked my photos..i have more if anyone wants to see them and my cousin even scaned my really cool pic i took of Peter Jackson & Ian McKellen.

Oh Danie that awful news. Is there any kind of treatment?

I'm glad you knew the movie by the way. I had nooo idea.

TK sometimes your family just **** you off don't they. It's awful when you're in the middle and being the nice one they won't help out.

More pics please.

Families! Hatched from pods is the way to go.

Thanks Wen I've always admired red hair, esp the coppery kind like a penny, it's so unusual (but you have to have the skin to go with it) - but I don't know - never dyed it before. Also like blond hair, but then, everybody does that one. I've always been big into au natural. But maybe when it turns white?
<Podmom's old smilie with a cane here>

Danie medical stuff and dealing with bureaucracy really stinks - sorry you are dealing with it and getting the run around. One of Mr ML's hot young cousins who plays in a band came down with MS, but they seem to have some new meds for it that helped him. Rough business.

Guy with the fro? He's a cutie. Looks kinda weird before you see his personality and smile then you think he's a cutie. Perhaps he'll be on this Sunday then. They're showing Am Idol over here.

Thanks guys for all your support! You're all so lovely!

Bloody red tape. I'm thinking of just walking into my doctors office, offering him a bottle of vino and saying "Can you just give me a name so I can get the pension?" I have a good relationship with my doc, I wonder if he's up for bribes? lol

Guy was on American TV hey? He's everywhere!! On 'The Footy Show' the other night, Shane "Hank Bulger MD" Crawford was doing 'Street Talk' at the Logies and he sang "What about me" with Shannon, but changed the words to "What about Shane, he's got no brain"... loved that and then Guy told Shane that he was the worst singer he's ever heard. Poor Hank Bulger MD.

Well...

It's springtime for Hilter and Germany!

Danie's report on 'The Producers'!

As The Bloke and I got free tickets, we sat up the back, which was OK since The Princess is not a large venue and you could see everything. All the lead actors were good, but I really think that they should of re-thought casting of Bert Newton as the Nazi script-writer. His accent was AWFUL and I think I only laughed once the whole time he was on stage. I haven't seen the movie (it must be the only Mel Brooks movie I haven't seen) but Dad said that it was a really good adaption.
If you don't know the story, here it is in a nut shell. Max (played by Reg Livermore) is a big Broadway producer, who has his first big flop by setting Hamlet to music. Anyway, he meets Leo (Tom Burlinson), who's an accountant, who tells him that if he puts on a really bad play (and if it flops the first night), he'd make millions from all the little old ladies that support him. So anyway, they find this really awful play "Springtime for Hilter" and really gay it up. Sadly for the boys, the play is a success and they get in heaps of trouble with the I.R.S.
You get everything that you'd expect from Mel Brooks; tit jokes, Jewish jokes, gay jokes, war jokes, but not one fart joke ;( Oh well, you can't have them all!
It's so non-polictically correct you can't help but laugh and then feel naughty afterwards.

It's very good for a laugh when it's pissing down rain in Melbourne! Hopefully, you Sydney-siders will get it after its run here!

Better run chickens... stuff to do.

Remember to buy your "Save Danie" badge and wear it proudly!

I went to see "Talking With..." at the Semour Centre last night. It's this play. It was a series of people telling you about somthing they loved in their lives and most of them turned out to be just that little bit mad. Twas really good.

Sounds good Mezzie!

Hey Kender, sorry for not saying sorry about the problems with your sister! I'm about to kill my brother at the moment - he's such a jerk and made all these racial comments today and I'm so upset with him. He's 9 and thinks that he knows all about the world.

Happy ANZAC Day people... sadly, I had a late one last night and missed the dawn service... AGAIN.

Is Sarz missing?
