It’s the Queen’s bday today!!!
Yeah i love yoga but i get so lazy. I really need to start exercising again cause I’m gaining weight like crazy now. |
a few coronation gifs...she was 25 when she became Queen and was crowned the year we were born ML
https://78.media.tumblr.com/540cdbcc...4k2zo1_500.gif I like how that was looked casual https://media.giphy.com/media/imlQagmygyVZC/giphy.gif https://lh6.googleusercontent.com/eu...U3JSb-sy7TNqFb http://78.media.tumblr.com/tumblr_mb...3cpwo1_500.gif not sure if that is the coronation but I liked it and it might be Happy Birthday Queen Elizabeth 2 |
I didn’t even know her actual birthday! :embarrassment:
So it’s a boy....not that I really care. |
Yay, royal baby #3 is here today, day after Great-Grandmamma's birthday! :D A boy. Nice for them.
Yes, QE2 has been Queen for our entire lives! And think how many US Presidents have come and gone in that time! She is the same age as my Mother too, which I also always found impressive, her stiff upper lip and carrying on into old (OLD) age. Oh geez, speaking of OLD, I just messed up so bad - was making lasagna, got all done, ready to put in the oven, and went to put the rest of the shredded cheese away in the fridge and thought "Why is there still a whole package of mozzarella cheese in the drawer?" - because I'd just made the whole lasagna with MUNSTER cheese by mistake! :headslap: I don't know how weird it's going to taste (probably very weird) but I am now officially OLD, doing stupid cooking stuff. :( |
yay!! Omg princess Charlotte was sooo cute waving!!
What;s munster cheese?!?! |
Ekua you're such a Scottish rebel :)
ML oh no....let us know how that works? I have to be way more careful now cooking :embarrassment: kind of troubling  My mother was the Queens age too....mom was born the July before Elizabeth. I don't know if I've had Munster either aubie but I've always known the name...I think it is a kind of mild cheese ....not stringy like Mozzerella....it will be different ...hopefully not bad because that is a labor intensive dish. |
 I guess I am!
|
Ok well I'm going to sound really dumb, but is she also Scotland's queen?
I know she is for Canada cause she's in everything we have. And i know nothing about the royals!! |
Yes she is....England Scotland Ireland and Wales I believe....I'm not 100% sure about Canada. I know she is on you're money perhaps? I'm wondering if Canada is part of the Common wealth instead....a different thing but very related to Liz....she made it up and is really into supporting Common wealth nations.
here is a pic of Ekuas Halloween costume this year..... https://i2-prod.dailyrecord.co.uk/in...JS39565886.jpg |
Yes she’s the Queen of Great Britain and Northern Ireland. But for some reason the American press, movies and TV shows still refer to her as Queen of England. England hasn’t been separate since the 1700s! It drives me crazy  Almost as much as referring to the whole of the UK as England....
Yeah Canada is in the commonwealth along with Australia and NZ ;) |
You have taught us not to do that Ekua so there to people who think we don't learn anything on FF :D
|
:lmao: Thanks!!!!
Oh the excitement over the baby name...I want them to go all out crazy but they won’t! Although the Queen’s other great grandchildren are Savannah, Isla and Mia....not so royal worthy names! |
So it’s a French name!! (pronounced Lou-EE) Not expecting that...!
|
Louis Arthur Charles is the new royal baby name! Nice one.
Yes, we still call her the Queen of England, even though she's Queen of the UK. Lazy Americans, we just don't change things easily (since the 1700s). I thought everybody knew munster cheese but maybe not. It's a mild cheese that is usually orange around the edge (which you would think I might have noticed). Surprisingly, the lasagna was just about as delicious as it usually is - big PHEW! I was afraid it was going to taste all different and strange. Might have if I'd used a strong tasting cheese like Swiss by mistake. Yep, us old folks have to be doubly careful cooking. I baked chocolate chip cookies with MLette the other day and was puzzling and puzzling with the math, how to combine a 1/4 cup of Crisco with a stick of margarine and how much butter. to equal 2 sticks (or 1 cup)... Not good at math in general, but usually very good at math involved in baking! Charlotte was sooo cute, doing a wee little Royal Wave to everyone. She looks so much like her great-grand The Queen. Oh I always assumed munster cheese came from Munster, Germany but one of my Swiss friends on FB set me straight - it's from the Alsace region of France, but brought to America by German immigrants so I think basically it's an American type of cheese (which is why you all haven't heard of it - or maybe just not as popular as Swiss and Cheddar etc). I like it because it's not as salty as some other cheeses and melts very nicely in sandwiches. And that's more than anyone needs to know about munster cheese! |
I love cheese. Any cheese. Nothing beats a grilled cheese sandwich! :D
Pretty much my thoughts right now...! |
