Ekua Actually Christmas and Easter is more like 10 days or so. It also depends what day the holiday falls on. We have a few random days off too.... Presidents weekend,MLK day and a couple others I think. We get a longer summer break around 10 weeks.

Yeah that's similar to us in Canada, depends on how Christmas falls that year, sometimes you get a week and sometimes you get two.
Oh I forgot one of my aunt is a drama teacher in Scotland! How can I forget that? Anyways, I miss being on vacation...i love sleeping in. __________________

I need a vacation so badly...it has been years for a proper vacation. Going to OC is a blessing but I still have to cook etc.....I need a total break.....no house or cooking or anything. Me getting waited on
 I need to make it happen sometime this year somehow between the rebuild stuff and my stuff and helping with the grands. Liz was trying to organize a trip to the caribbean this year but I guess that is out  __________________

Yes, so many beautiful vacation plans ruined by Mother Nature! I have no idea how long it will take for these places to rebuild. Dominica is getting socked by Hurricane Maria now - we visited there - beautiful place, a steep volcanic mountain covered with trees, with river cascading down. Very different from the sandy/cactus-y/not much water islands (like Aruba). And we saw people washing their clothes in the river and drying them on the rocks! I think they had a factory there that made coconut oil soap, some banana plantations etc. Those islands are for the most part very poor to start with, and so many people lost everything.
But PodMom you definitely need a long leisurely enjoyable vacation! No cooking, to babysitting - just kicking back with sun and water.  My great niece who has just started teaching elementary school in Texas is feeling the same way Ekua, overwhelmed with the work and the preparation and how demanding it all is! HUGS! __________________

 The past few days have been hard...hyper kids! The novelty has started to wear off and they're tired....Aww Podmom you definitely deserve a holiday! I hope you're able to take one soon! __________________

Awww i wish you get your vacation too Podmom!
That is sad about what's happening in the Caribbean! And Mexico with the earthquake! My gosh, it's like all of a sudden mother nature is super angry this time of year. Oh no, the kids are tired now too, that means more work then? I can't imagine. __________________

Ahhh that must be tough!
Hey I saw this article online yesterday and thought that was pretty neat. I dont know if you teach them about germs, but there was a teacher who did an experiment with her class. She took three sandwiches one controlled, one handled with clean hands, one handled with dirty hands. She put it in baggies and a few days passed by and the dirty hand bread was green while the other two where not at all! It was pretty gross but neat to see. __________________
