So glad for negative test! I’ve heard people testing positive longer with PCR since it can be very sensitive
Now locally we have a woman in her forties who killed her father and mother in their 70s just after new years. chain saw involved … |

Yes my hubby tested positive for 10 days straight. He just felt tired and foggy every day after his main symptoms.
OMG JJ, that is so sad and awful!!! I'm 40 and my parents are in their 70's i just can't imagine!! Also with a chainsaw?? Were they sick? __________________

Not sure of the motive….I think she was after money since they said the safe had been drilled unsuccessfully

People have just gone around the bend! Local mother killed her kids and then jumped out of the window to kill herself - she survived. Wealthy business man just jumped off the top of some fancy tall NY building - at least he didn't see the need to kill off his family first.
But on the bright side, it's warmed up, rained, the recent snow is gone, and we're going to look at more bride dresses on Sunday. Yesterday Mlette did a hairdresser trial run (at home of her fiance's parents in NH) and it went very well - she's hired. I don't know what she can do with my (man-short) hair - I'm thinking maybe a little netty fascinator or hairclip maybe? __________________

In brighter news (than all the horrendous killings), MLette found a bride dress on Sunday! YAY! Order is in, it should show up ~July for fitting/alterations. Check! She looks like a goddess in it - lovely. And I'm not just saying that because I'm her Mum -it's true.
She also told me that woman who killed her family/tried to kill herself had toxic post partum depression, really really serious, was under a doctor's care, but she should have been hospitalized/committed... __________________

it's crazy here in Toronto, lots of stabbings and being set on fire in public transits here. I feel like COVID really broke some people's mental being.
OHHHH Exciting about the dress!! What kind of dress is it? Is it princess like or mermaid like? __________________

I finally got sick. Not covid, but a cold. Tested a bunch and kept getting negative. Had such a bad sore throat monday and the next day gone, then the nose blowing started and today coughing.
Hope you all had a great week! __________________

Two out of four of my kids have really bad colds….not Covid. A lot of stomach viruses in the schools right now too…..ugh.
oh I’m so happy about the dress!!! So exciting! I’ve been reading about the Murdaugh trial and how they use cell phone data to track the deaths….. |

That Murdaugh also insured his housekeeper for millions, killed her, and kept most of the money, gave her kids $100,000. What an evil guy!
Dress is lacy and sparkly on top, sort of netty on the bottom - not mermaid or ball gown, I don't know what it's called, A-line?, skirt is full and goes down like an A. Well we had a vicious cold snap last night, it was -16 F; never been this cold here EVER. We thought we'd left the (prone to freezing) hot water tap in the kitchen dripping enough so it wouldn't freeze but guess what. Frozen. We thought we could blow it with the hairdryer and thaw it but then Mr ML looked at the pipe and the pipe is broken/disconnected So now we're without hot water. It's lucky he figured that out and shut it off before it thawed and spewed water everywhere (will thaw out tomorrow or Monday, when it's going to be in the 40's F again). I left a message for a plumber but I expect they'll be busy and I'm not sure how difficult or easy this will be to fix (and I am SO over living in such an old oooold house). He is going to have to move two airconditioners off a shelf in front of the pipe and all sorts of stuff. Sorry you have all had bad colds (that weren't Covid). The Covid really made my friend very tired/needing lots of naps, and she's usually a dynamo. I wonder if Covid, or the years of isolation, is behind all these mental breakdowns. Some person just tried to crash their car off the top of the subway station parking garage - it got stuck, but did a lot of damage to the glass/station below! What is UP with people these days. I have no idea. I found out the woman who killed her kids had post partum depression/psychosis and was doped up on a dozen different psych meds (that probably drove her over the edge). Who knows? It's just sad. __________________

I do think COVID did a number on people's mental health. Especially the ones who were already struggling before covid. Toronto is crazy right now and we are not known for daily attack news but now it's so much more frequent it's scary. it's really sad.
Ohh that dress sounds lovely ML!! Sorry about the pipe freezing. We lucked out and ours was ok. we did have our taps dripping too when we got that snap on Friday and Saturday. Wah my head hurt the next day when we went back up to normal temps. __________________

I called a plumber the next day - a week later, he still never called back. Luckily Mlette was coming up and said her neighbor down the street was a plumber - I called him and he called back at lunch time and was here Monday afternoon and fixed the pipe. YAY! Hot water again. We were sooo lucky nothing was damaged.
People really are losing their minds - it's so scary. Just found a husband, wife, teen son all shot dead in their house - murder/suicide by the father. If people want to kill themselves, why do they feel the need to take others along with them, that is just the worst. Some idiot also tried to kill himself by driving his car off the roof of the subway parking garage - just succeeded in knocking tons of concrete down on a glass roof below and doing tons of damage. Really, don't be so dramatic - and call a suicide help line. We just mailed out the 'save-the-date' cards today; Mlette and I assembled them yesterday. She's making great strides on this wedding stuff but so much to do - boggles the mind. __________________

Ugh that is so sad to hear ML. World is either losing their minds or we are just more exposed to it? i dont know. i feel like every generation says the same things like the world is crazier and crazier, but like has it really gone crazier? Ohh wedding planning sounds so fun!! __________________

My friend said that to me, terrible things have always been happening, but with our 24 hr news cycle (and news on TV at 4, 5, 7, 9, 10, 11 etc), you just hear about every bad thing happening, all over the world (like that earthquake in Syria/Turkey) - sigh.
But even though that is true, I think things just seem to be... escalating. More craziness, people crazier, doing worse things. What's up with all those mysterious space objects lately, I wonder. First it was a Chinese spy balloon, but then they shot down other things over Alaska, and Canada and.. Hope they weren't UFOs and they didn't shoot down any cute aliens like Max Evans and his family... __________________
