I agree R- having no structure in the summer is tough. It really messes with me. I was up at 5:30am because we were supposed to go to the beach, but then decided not to because it's really cloudy. But I need to be down the shore for a party tonight anyhow. I went back to sleep until noon. Now I need to get ready to head out for the party. Normally I would stay at my friends shore house all weekend, grew up there in the summers, but now that her and her sister both have families, there is no room for me. :( I can sleep on the couch if I want, we will see how much I drink. I always tease the kids that they booted me out of the beach house.

I don't think COVID is going away either. I am just trying to keep myself immune system up and keep myself healthy. Not doing such a great job. Congrats to you K though on 10pounds! That's amazing. Such a great feeling.

I was more upset about the Rottweiler going for Scoobs than he was. His little abscess is clearing up but now he has a few other little red spots in the same area. It's between his little wee wee and his butt, not to be graphic. He's going to the groomer tomorrow so I will see what they say. Probably just a rash from the heat/the pool/and him biting at it, although he doesn't seem too bothered by it. I was walking him yesterday and ran into one of my brothers neighbors who told me that Scoobs was walking himself around the neighborhood the other day. He tried to catch him and he ran into my brothers backyard. I flipped out at my brothers family. I mean, I know they help me a lot when I am not home for long periods of time and Scoobs absolutely loves it there but COME ON! I only know of one other time that he got out in 10 years so I'm trying not to make a big deal of it. At least he came back. :(

Poor Scoobs!!! Maybe the chlorine & heat are aggravating his skin. I would be mad too if my dog got loose while someone was watching him and never bothered to tell me. Hopefully, they got the message and it doesn’t happen again.

K- down 10 pounds is a BIG deal, Congrats!!!

I really have no idea how you contract monkeypox but the whole thing freaks me out. After how caught off guard our country was handling the rona anything even remotely contagious scares the bejeezus out of me.

I hate getting sunburned, it’s just uncomfortable and painful. Anytime, I go to the pool I always wear a hat to cover my face and usually hide in the shade within an hour or so. Have you ever worn a rash guard when you’re on the water?

Griz has skin issues, this is usually the time when it starts to rear its ugly head. He's allergic to something that we've never been able to pinpoint so he gets an allergy shot of sorts around this time that will last for three months and that helps him.

I've fallen into a Love Island UK hole today.

I have not felt good today but covid test still says negative. My throat is a little sore, but feels like an allergy sore throat and also super scratchy, which, again, allergy symptom. I'm not tired so I have to imagine it's just allergies, maybe a cold. I don't know. I'm just hunkered down.

Well I did do some yard work. I had some phlox planted and I love when they bloom but that's just not for long and then they look kind of weedy so I pulled them out. Took more effort than expected.

Never worn a rash guard. I should just mention that I was just surprised that I burnt when I was wearing my coverup as opposed to being in the water without it on.

Regarding Scoobs getting out. I would be livid but hopefully it was just a one-off. That is my biggest fear with my cats. Griswold, I think he'd come back, he's too anxious to be away from me.

My niece said that she saw that the gate was open but she didn't think he had gone out because he was just sitting on the back porch waiting to come back in. Thank God the neighbor kind of chased him back. I went to high school with this particular neighbor's kids. The kids all moved away, they were both in the military. I think him and his wife sit by the window and watch the neighborhood. Every time I walk Scoobs there, he comes out with his dog and walks with me. lol EVERY time. It's actually cute, I think he's like 80.

Back to my pizza place guy. I got a mani/pedi in the same mini mall and went in just to get a Diet Dr. Pepper. He gave it to me for free and said.. "Since I've been trying to buy you a drink." ??? I giggled and left. I get so uncomfortable, but I think he's just flirty.

I was texting with a friend yesterday about getting together for dinner tonight. We settled on 6:30 dinner. She thought I meant last night and texted me from the restaurant that she was there and at a table. I was an hour a way down the shore! I felt so terrible. haha She blew me off today so I guess we are even. Now we are shooting for tomorrow. So I'm in and will probably watch some more of The Terminal List. I still need to watch the last two episodes of The Defeated. Oh and on a separate note. I thought it was funny in the Barstool interview when the guy asked him if all the Marvel actors are like friends/a special group, and Taylor was like... uhhh no!

Crazy4books 07-09-2022 08:12 PM

If any of our pets ever get out it will be because my kids have accidentally let them out. Our backyard is fenced in so the dogs are safe unless the gate is left open which we put another lock on the latch to be extra safe. My youngest always has friends ringing the doorbell so that’s my biggest concern that one of them might slip through the front door unnoticed.

Pauly D the pizza guy is still shooting his shot with you?;) At least, you got a free drink out of it.

The recent Barstool interview is my favorite just because he seems so relaxed and himself. You can always tell how relaxed he is when the F bombs start dropping.

Confession- I haven’t watched the Defeated yet but was planning on starting it this weekend. When it finally released here, I had lost interest in the highly edited version and it just seemed like a dark storyline which I haven’t been in the mood for.

I hate playing the game is it COVID or allergies? I miss the days when we could just be sick without testing ourself constantly.

I’ve never worn a rash guard either but lots of people that are sensitive to burning swear by them. Most of them have SPF protection so it’s probably safe than just wearing a cover up or t shirt especially if you’re in the water for a long time.

SouthernSweetieTX 07-09-2022 09:27 PM

I got sunburned over Father’s Day. My scalp too. I hated it most when it started to peel. Not a good look on me.

I woke up in sheer panic Saturday morning. I was having a dream and I had lost Bevo and couldn’t find him. I was horrified. I don’t know how I would feel if one got out and was actually missing. Kiki, I would be upset for sure. I’m so glad he cane back!

We had a game night with friends last night. We played one game and the boys ran off and the adults talked. I’m glad OM wasn’t with us, she would have been hacked we didn’t play more games. Sidenote: if you haven’t played Bang!, it’s so much fun. We love it. It’s a party game, you need at least 5 ppl to play.

If the weight loss slows down too much, I’ll be unreasonably annoyed. I am having less headaches and I’m not stark raving mad hungry any more. So, that’s a plus!

worthyoflove 07-09-2022 10:09 PM

I slept for much of the evening and now I'm wide awake.

The weight loss will of course slow but you'll still lose consistently. Just have to stick with it! I know some people switch to it for life but I never could, the first time I did it super strict like nothing processed and I was making everything I ate because I was too wary of keto friendly items, I did it for probably four months and that was when I was most successful.

I had a Taylor dream last night. It's what I get for reading this board before going to bed. I was at his house, no idea why, he had kids and the little girls name was Emily. And his house was like super eclectic and out there, which would never be his style. I think it was my combo of watching HGTV and reading this board before bed, and probably allergy medicine, that made me had crazy dreams.

elherts 07-10-2022 06:00 PM

I had a Taylor dream the other night too. We were in a ski lodge with a whole bunch of people and we were all sleeping on the floor. He was trying to blend in.

Apparently Paul Wesley has a new show out on Lifetime. It's Flowers in the Attic prequel. I knew nothing about it. He hasn't advertised it at all, so that can't be good. He also has the new Star Trek series but he's been posting about that. I don't do scary and I think this Flowers int he Attic might be scary.

worthyoflove 07-10-2022 06:35 PM

I don't remember flowers in the attic being scary, I think it was about child abuse maybe? Or that was an element of it. It's been a long time since I read the book.

I definitely woke up this morning knowing I was sick and it wasn't just allergies. I'll take another covid test tomorrow morning but so far they've all been negative. I don't feel awful and I don't really have any covid symptoms like being exhausted, the headache, etc., but I'm super congested, some upper respiratory thing going on.

I also definitely probably won't have a voice tomorrow because it's close to being gone today. I hate summer colds they always linger and are hard to shake. And now i get to deal with people looking at me weird because I sound sick while assuring them it's not covid. I'm just going to have to mask up at work. I'm glad I did Friday with that cancer patient she said it wasn't a big deal because at this point nothing could be worse than chemo.

So I've continued my Love Island UK binge today. I felt bad because a friend of mine is going through a breakup and she wanted to chat, so I took a break for her to come and sit with me on my back porch to talk it out.

worthyoflove 07-10-2022 10:02 PM

Well I spoke too soon, I felt a little feverish while getting ready for bed and took some Tylenol two hours later still running a fever close to 100 so I took another test and it didn’t even get to the “control” line of the test before it was positive. I feel like I did after the second vaccine, basically I ran a fever for 24 hours. But now I’m wide awake and have to think about everything I need to reschedule this week.

elherts 07-10-2022 10:11 PM

Welcome to the Covid Club A! Mine wasn't that bad so hopefully yours won't be either. I wish I knew that it would be the same if I were to get it again. Where do you think you got it from? I hope you didn't give it to your friend who came over tonight! But then again, at this point, unless I know I have it 100%, I'm not isolating. My allergies are SO bad still. I know the feeling when you are 100% its NOT just allergies... it's a different feeling.

I remember reading Flowers in the Attic and it was just creepy.

Today's dilemma.. my head is so itchy! Actually I am itchy everywhere. Probably the result of sunburn.

worthyoflove 07-11-2022 08:39 AM

Hopefully not sand fleas! Are those a thing, well I do know they're a thing but I didn't know if they were an ocean thing.

When my friend was over she didn't even come inside she just walked around back to my porch, we weren't close and I was downwind so I'm confident she'll be okay.

I was almost 90% sure it was just allergies until I heard my dad had a cold but didn't think it was covid. It took him a few days before he tested positive too. And then my mom got sick late last week too. So I'm almost positive I got it from my dad. We had a lot of people at our cottage last weekend, only around 12 were staying the night but during the day people were coming in and out to hang out on the lake or whatever. My dad's golfing buddy and his wife are moving to Vegas and they had been flying back and forth to get things situated but were officially moving last week so they came for one last goodbye and that night after they were with us they got sick but never tested. My dad must have caught it from them...I saw them but I was outside the whole time when I was with them. I then saw my dad on Wednesday when he was in early for his golf league and we met up to get some food. He said he was feeling run down then and he then proceeded to get sicker from there, so I got it from him, exposed Wednesday, sick by Saturday seems about right.

I'm just glad I had that random four hour intense fever because I wasn't sure it was covid until that moment. It felt exactly like I did after I had the second vaccine. But obviously the fever was much shorter. I've never had such a short intense fever. I hope it doesn't come back.

Anyway, I'm off work now until at least Thursday. Of course at the worst possible time because I just got a new laptop for work and it's not set up yet so I have to deal with my tech guy today to get that squared away.

So far it feels like a bad head cold, I'm not 100% sure if this was three years ago I wouldn't have just gone into the office even though I'm sick. It's crazy to think what we push through for work sickness wise.
