That's progress! Did you not have to cut down the trees at the cottage this weekend?

I saw Maid and will add it to my to watch list.

There were no ants this morning! Thank You Jesus! I was so relieved. I will still caulk the hole. I need to go outside and see if there is visual evidence of the ants near the house. I'm certain there isn't. Those sneaky b*****ds came up from the bowels of hell.

I missed the part you mentioned about the ants. I used to have issues with ants randomly at certain times of the year. I finally figured out that it was apple trees that were too close to the house. After I had them cut down they disappeared. But yeah, weather change...rain, I'm sure all add to the problem.

I really liked Maid. I think I'm going to read the book now too.

No trees, I had to go up there to get my hair cut, which ended up being way shorter than I wanted but oh well. It's still longish it's just much shorter than it was. Our lawn guys took care of the tree at some point this week. The other two still have to come down but that's not on me.

Send me a pic of your hair. :) I NEED to get mine cut. I REALLY like it at just below shoulder length...it's out of control (it's breast level now) and my framing layers are so grown out. It makes my face look longer than it really is. I think I'm going to have to break down and find someone here. I was watching this guy on Youtube who has done hair for 26 years...I looked him up and he's in Portland, OR, and charges 250 for JUST A CUT! I about fell out. I mean, I'll pay that for my color and cut. Just a cut! I was clutching my pearls.

I'll send you a pic of the hair. She layered it way too much, I need it like an inch or two longer. I don't love it. It's just not what I wanted, but the ends were so dead...it was way too long, the longest it had been in so long.

Nothing grows out slower than a bad haircut. :(

The not secure warnings are really bad, like every time I load the page. So if I click on a post, it appears. If I respond to a post, it appears. etc. etc. Not dealing with that! lol But I can't figure out why and I don't know who I would ask for help. It's on some other sites to. This site actually isn't fully loading.

But yet I am illegally streaming the Eagles right now, and nothing. Hmmm.

Have you cleared your cookies and history?

Try typing in the website in your browser and see what you get. I couldn't get here from saved bookmarks when they moved to the new server. I was having issues at first, but it's fixed now. I don't ever see the not secure warning though. That would be so annoying and frustrating. The admins did specifically say that the warning issue should be fixed with the switch.

worthyoflove 10-03-2021 12:27 PM

I haven't had the warnings at all, which I usually do when it's an issue. Like Kayla said, maybe try to clear your cookies or log out and log back in and see if it helps. Though if you're having the same issue with other pages it might be a you issue and not a board issue.

Today was a heavy shopping day. I’m so tired. I returned some things. Went to Walmart for cat and kitten food….they didn’t have any wet or dry kitten food. So bust. Ordered from Chewy and will have it delivered. Hit three Dollar Tree locations to find the boards I needed to make a sign for our spooky town vignette. I actually need a few more to make two Christmas signs. I started to get them at the last store I was in, but I would have cleared them out, so I chose to be nice. I still haven’t been to my favorite location. All three stores had vastly different stock. You got to shop them all! I found trees for our train town for Christmas. AND I found my favorite hand soap. The stock has been slim lately. :bunny:

I have a HOME sign in individual letters on a shelf at my entryway. The O is a boxwood wreath. For autumn, I made an acorn for the O. I just picked up an ornament for Christmas and a snowflake for January. I’ll get a heart for February and a Shamrock for March. Maybe an egg for Easter.

We tried a new place for dinner. We got an appetizer sampler and an additional appetizer. We all ordered something different for entrees. We came home with FOUR to go boxes! It was waaaaaay too much food. I wasn’t super impressed. The kids would like to give it a second chance. IDK.

I ordered some jeans from Abercrombie of all places. I kept seeing people recommending them. They've apparently had a complete overhaul and rebrand recently. I tried some on today but they didn't have my size so I ordered them and then of course went into a bunch of other stores I didn't need to.

So I'll say I'm five episodes in to Midnight Mass and I don't know how I feel about it. I'd be interested to see how the very religious/Christians would feel about it. It leans very very heavy on religion. Episode five is where you figure out kind of what's going on. I heard that Zach is actually already signed on to be in the next series the creator does. He has to do some super heavy lifting/emotional scenes in a lot of these episodes. Including having an in depth conversation about death/miscarriages, which, how hard that must be for him after he and his wife lost their son to a late term miscarriage.

Spoiler:

I've had offers to accompany someone to Siesta Key, Florida and then Charlotte in the past few days. For some reason I just can't get in the mood to travel at the moment for fun. I'm still not even really back into doing normal things here let alone traveling somewhere else to do stuff there.

My friend who was supposed to be getting married in like a week and move to South Africa...yeah, completely called that off, not just delayed, just no more engagement. I feel so bad.

SouthernSweetieTX 10-05-2021 09:12 PM

I mean, you were already at the mall…why not?

I have worked on a few crafting projects today. I have pumpkin paint, that’s the actual name of it somewhere and I can’t find it. I know it’ll show up as a soon as fall is over. I just gotta paint one thing! I burnt the crap out of my finger making a sweater pumpkin. It seriously hurts, but my pumpkins are very on trend.
I have two outdoor Christmas wreaths I’m working on. I think my mom is going to come for a few days later in the month. She’s great at making bows, so if I get them done now, she can make the bows when she’s visiting.

Baby M has a fall break in two weeks. OM has no break. So,we can’t go anywhere all together. We don’t want to leave the baby anyway. He’s sooooooooo precious! OM has commandeered him. Apparently, I’m not getting a pet until the kids move out.

I did establish that she’ll have no traditional finals this semester. That’s always nice. One class has a project due right before Thanksgiving! Everything after that is just showing up for the participation points.

Oh no! What happened?!? Is she still moving to South Africa?

We had LO from dinner last night…that was their second chance. I’m not going back. Gross. I hate wasting food. It’s a huge trigger for me. So, we ate the leftovers, but I didn’t like them.

worthyoflove 10-06-2021 07:53 AM

She's now not moving to South Africa. That was my question too, she's lived there before, when she met her fiancé five years ago but other than him and aside from a circle of friends there all of her family is here. I'm hoping she stays put, she lived for most of her post-college life in Nashville and I love having her back home here. But, anyway, basically there are some standards/things that need to be done/met to get a Visa for her. Some of that fell on her fiancé to do/meet that criteria. He had not, he said he was working toward it. She gave him kind of a deadline, you have to get it done by this time or the wedding can't happen. And at that point she was like if he can't commit/get this done what am I doing uprooting my life to move there and be with him. So he didn't meet the deadlines she set and she ended it. I'm proud of her for that, I know it's not easy for a multitude of reasons.

My friend is having her twins today! So excited to for her. She's living my dream. Not the twin girls part, but twins. She said she cried for an hour after she found out they were both girls...same, I would absolutely do the same.

I am not that crafty. I can put together any flower arrangement you need but crafts, nope. The girl that does my hair is so crafty, she's always got some project going on that she's posting about and I'm envious.

SouthernSweetieTX 10-06-2021 11:57 AM

I thought she was there for work, and going back for work. I don't guess I realized going back was for him. It's probably for the best if he couldn't get his act together pre-wedding. No less hard, but the best decision.

I'm not as crafty as some. I watch a lot of youtube videos for inspiration. Some ppl are just so creative! I can copy as well as anyone else though.

I always wanted twins, God knew better. I wanted a girl and a boy. :) One pregnancy, two babies. It seemed the most logical way to go. I got the one girl and one boy...just 5 years apart, and I'm okay with that.

My children are about to go live outside until they find the items in the shed I'm looking for. Before you think I'm overreacting...I've been asking for these two items since late August. They've had time and I'm done waiting. My patience is depleted.

She went to South Africa for work years ago, that's when she met this guy, she can now work wherever she wants as she owns her own business and it's all remote.

I have a new stray cat that keeps coming around. I'm turning into the unintentional cat lady. I'm going to have to make shelter for them for the winter. This is when I wish I was handy and could do this on my own.

SouthernSweetieTX 10-06-2021 06:46 PM

So she was moving for him. That’s a big ask.

That could be simple to assemble. I read somewhere to line the shelter with straw and not blankets. That blankets can freeze and the kitties will freeze to death, but that straw/hay will keep them warm.

Bevo is so so so cute. He thinks he’s such a big boy. He figured out how to get on my kitchen counter, something the other cats do not do. As happy as he was with himself, I was not impressed. Charley and Riggins never even tried, Bevo is all, “hold my beer” about it. Nope. That’s not gonna work in my house.

Sounds like he has youngest child syndrome and is going to be a trouble maker. Duke is the same. Nellie was so easy and Duke gets into everything. He woke me up last night knocking some stuff around on my dresser.

In cold weather climates they say to use something that's insulated, they actually sell old coolers that have been turned into outdoor kitty shelters on Etsy. The other key is to have two entrances/exits so that if there's a cat in there and something else tries to get in they can escape.

Her one friend in South Africa who has come to visit here before said that she should have made him come here (which he can't because of Covid restrictions right now) to see what she's giving up moving to South Africa. But my friend and I were out to brunch and we leave the restaurant and there's a Bentley sitting there...not that uncommon in this area. She was like, "how am I going to bring him here in this environment when he grew up literally not wearing shoes..." she was really worried about culture shock.
