Mans is in New York screening the first two episodes. No idea if Taylor is there or not.

Screening in the US? They have to have a date for airing it!

I actually think that they're probably screening it for potential distributors. It sounds like they had a screening in LA as well, and in a clip from the red carpet I could hear Taylor in the background mention he was finally going to see the first cut. So I'd guess there was one in LA in the last few days as well.

Fingers crossed it’s Netflix, Hulu, or Amazon!

Hopefully!
A lot of the cast were commenting on the screenings as well and seemed surprised/excited, so it does kind of seem like there is no US distributor yet but they're working on it. |

I kinda get the impression too that both events (in LA and in NY) were definitely lined up to acquire US distribution. I doubt Taylor was in NY though. It's good to read that many of the cast were excited about seeing it.
I just wish we'd hear something about Inferno. |

No, I definitely think that they were for distributors and that Taylor probably saw those first two episodes at the LA screening. It also very much wasn't for media because there was no mention of either screening anywhere other than Mans, so it was definitely distributors.

Hopefully by the end of March we'll hear something? I want to be optimistic and say the end of February but realistically when it's announced who purchased it I can see it going one of two ways, it's strictly just a blurb about what distributor has purchased it, or they wait and release it with when it'll air.

I will say it must be challenging for actors/actresses to work 5-6 months on a project like this and then have to wait another 4 months after filming ends to actually see anything close to a final cut. I know they probably see dailies/rough cut footage while filming, but they still don't walk away from production knowing what will happen to the final product in the end (unless they are involved with producing in some way).
I was thinking about this because if Taylor says he only just saw the first two episodes last week, he was probably just as anxious to see it as we are (maybe even more). |

Yeah that to me is crazy, but also TV. With weekly shows I doubt they even see the episodes before they air because most of the time they're still filming while the show is airing.
I always wondered if that's why we didn't see a ton of promo for True Detective. They spit that thing out so quick, Taylor said they were in to filming episode five or six and still didn't have scripts for the final episodes which is crazy to me. |

I came across an article from a foreign publication today where they were talking about dramas to watch for in 2020 and they guess the release for Shadowplay will be this fall, which is what Taylor kind of mentioned previously as well.
So this is interesting...It's listed as a four part series. According to a previous publication by this same site, internationally it's being marketed as one hour each eight episode series. In Europe it will be released as four two hour episodes. So that lends the question, when they say they're on episode three, editing wise...does that mean episode three of the eight part series or episode three of the four part series? Quote:
