I'm still in Charleston, SC right now. I'm SO happy I missed the heatwave at home. I know a lot of people lost power and it was brutal. It was high eighties in Atlanta. Today in Charleston it was 91, which was hot since we were doing a lot of walking, but still cooler than at home!

I used to go to softball camp every summer, but never sleep away camp. Nobody really did. The kids where I teach all go away to sleep-away camp all summer. I wouldn't have wanted to go all summer but a week or two might have been fun.

So sorry to hear about your friend too Kayla. Sometimes life just sucks.

We've been having something of a heatwave here too. . . And because it just doesn't happen often, nobody can cope!

The kids have finally broken up from school here and it's already driving me mad having both girls here ALL DAY! Summer camp isn't a thing here because that is seeming like a very attractive option right now! . . . In fact, I feel like escaping myself. Today is the day we get our new Prime Minister and I can't help feeling he will be as bad as your guy!

Hope everyone is ok :-)

Do you guys all have central air there or is that not a thing in the UK?

I was thinking about summer with kids a few weeks ago, how do both parents that work even manage. I now see the appeal of having a stay at home parent. Daycare, if you don't have a willing family member to help with the load, has to be so expensive. Both my parents worked and my grandma took some of the summer responsibilities for awhile and then we did daycare for awhile, then our neighborhood swim club became my babysitter when I was a little older in the summer.

I finished Stranger Things and really liked the third season. I loved some of the new characters and had no idea that Robyn is Uma Thurman and Ethan Hawke's daughter. She was great!

Also, the new Twitter layout is awful, I had to find a workaround to go back to the old version.

Is central air like air con? Houses don't tend to have air con but offices and schools etc. Usually do. We just don't usually have the heat here in order to justify using it! It's still pretty hot at the moment. It was 18°C after midnight.

I didn't know Robyn was their daughter either! The scenes with her and Steve were some of my faves!

I've just finished watching Easy on Netflix. A little treat that Jake Johnson was in the last episode. He's looking pretty fine.

I just can't sleep at the moment. Second night in a row I've still been awake at 3am .

Yeah childcare can be expensive. As a childminder myself, it's the main thing putting me off looking for another job!

Yup, central air is air conditioning. We don't have it at our cottage, because, same, it's hard to justify it when the lake is kind of your natural air conditioning. It's in the low 70's (21 celsius) right now and I have my windows open.

I loved Robyn, she and Steve were my favorite part of this season.

I started watching the newest season of Last Chance U, but I'm waiting for August to get here for Mindhunter and Succession.

My aunt who had three kids stopped working for awhile and did daycare out of her house too, her entire income would just go to paying for daycare.

Most of my friends who work full time had their kids in camps in the summer.

Yeah, I need to decide what I want to do really. I'm not loving child minding anymore really. And come next September (2020) both my girls will be in school full time. The reason I gave up teaching to become a childminder was so I could spend time with my kids. Since they will both be at school for 6 hours a day, I feel like I'm done. I just don't know what I want to do instead!

TFTNT!

SO... I thought my house in Austin was a done thing. I have the utilities set up! I signed the lease, and now the owner has changed her mind and backed out. WTF?!?! ANYWAY, the realtor has another house, same price, and this one is much bigger and has Now, wherea storage shed. Only 1/2 mile from the other one. He is so mad at this lady. He said he was done with her, and would no longer be helping her out.

She backed out BEFORE she signed it and no money has changed hands. I say bullet dodged. If she was going to be a nightmare than I've been spared. BUT... I have movers, electric, gas, water, internet... all set up for the original house! I need to change it, but I can't until I have an address! I'm moving on the 15th. Yikes!

Enjoy the kids while they are this age, soon enough they will be grown and you'll miss these days.

Oldest Minon will be 17 on Sunday!! I may or may not have cried about it. She and I got Bday pedicures today!

I've cried over my friend for two days. today was better. Friday and Saturday will be hard.

I'm not boxing as quickly as I need to. I have things in a storage unit I need moved to our apartment to load the moving truck. I'm trying NOT to stress, but this move is getting to me. Now, where's the alcohol?

Emma. Would you go back to teaching?

Kayla. Did the lady say why she backed out? Good riddance. Once you are settled, then you can start your FNL tour company. Let me tell you, the Vampire Diaries tour was AMAZING. There were 50 people on my tour and she said it is like that every day now that it's on Netflix. It was so well done and it's now her full time job. She has full support from the creator and actors. Pretty amazing for this sleepy like Georgia town. I will post some pictures later.

That would be so much fun to actually make a tour company like that your every day job.

I'm glad you got it figured out before you got there or she backed out even closer to the move in date. That's terrible.

I like kids...kids are exhausting. I don't know how parents do it. I'll be with a five year old all weekend and I'm tired just thinking about it.

I need to evaluate my diet more closely or I just had a stomach bug. I have no idea what it was but my stomach wasn't quite right on Tuesday but I was still hungry, I had some zoodles with pesto, chicken and tomatoes on Tuesday night and it really messed up my stomach. I woke up with the worst heartburn of my life yesterday and then had stomach issues all day. I woke up with a terrible headache this morning and was just so fatigued all day and felt like I was getting a cold. I finally started feeling better this evening after I ate something more substantial. But either I have some weird food issue or I had a stomach bug. I just wish I knew what my triggers were.

You’ve done allergy testing haven’t you? Maybe the tomatoes, those are nightshade.

Kiki, how much was the tour and how long was it...this could be a legit weekend thing...

It was $50 and 3 hours.

I don't think I have any food allergies but I do know that gluton hoes not sit well.

I had allergy testing when I was a kid. When I had an endoscopy earlier this year they took some biopsies and that showed that I wasn't celiac, but that obviously doesn't mean that I still couldn't be more sensitive to certain foods.

I was trying to remember the last time I had such a bad stomach flair up and it was when I went on a cucumber kick, then right before this happened a ton of zucchini. I don't know, maybe my stomach just can't handle it in large quantities.

I eat cherry tomatoes once or twice a week and they usually don't bother me unless I'm already suffering from heartburn, then I avoid them.

Usually when it flairs up like this I just kind of have to reset my stomach, eat super bland foods for a couple days and then start adding in different things that I think are safe. I just hate when it happens before I'm supposed to be going away or have something going on where all I want to do is eat bad food and drink.

An unhappy tummy is no fun anytime, but especially when traveling.
