to me it sounds a lot like the 1989 extra songs. i can hear bits of 1989/folklore/evermore/midnights. Seems to be her style now.

i love it, but i do kinda miss some of her upbeat poppy stuff and also dark/reputation type songs.

I had a feeling she would release more songs like she did with Midnights, but giving us 15 more songs really took me at surprised.

I only listen to all of the songs once for now. Will be listen to it more later. My favorite after first listen is probably "Who's afraid of little old me?".

jess we have the same sig! lol. I love the lyric.

Same, I only listened to everything once. I'll listen to it constantly on my long drives later. I preferred all the songs from the original 16 than the extras personally. The extra ones felt more like evermore/folklore... a bit sleepier, and will take more time to grow on me I think. I was shocked to see so many too.

My favs from the first listen were:

Alexa, I loved it too. It is so good.

Currently listen to the album again. And it is even better this time around.

I feel like this album is like Folklore and Evermore had a kid. (Which I love beacause Folklore & Evermore are my favorite albums)

It does have some hints towards Midnights too. And I have to say that I love this album more than I did with Midnights too.

I'm listening again right now, but I started with my "least" favs and going to work my way up. I am still finding them a bit sleepy but I am not a big fan of the evermre/folklore slow genre like others are. I still love them of course! And they will take a bit to really grow on me. Right now i think I only really like 12 songs a lot.

For me, as far as genre/sound it goes:
1989/reputation - pop + darker pop
lover - super upbeat pop lol
red - country pop
then midnights/evermore/folklore - the more indie sounding albums

the first three albums are my least favorite sounds cuz i am not a big country fan, and i also think i am just more sick of those songs cuz theyve been around so long, but of course there are major bops on those!


I am excited to re-listen to the ones i listed above though. I prefer Midnights so far, but we'll see later on!


ETA: I finished listening and I have the same opinion, the first half of the album is so much better imo. I love most of the earlier tracks a lot. My top 10 are still:
