they never did that for 4 seasons, they thought it was gonna be OMG awesome, actually is not...you don't do that and then a 8 months hiatus.

I guess it's just difference of opinion, because I liked the finale.

And yeah I watched seasons 1-4 on ABC.com and then I got the DVDs for Christmas this year and watched again before season 5.

lots of people who watched Lost in a road or on DVD liked this cliffhanger because it's like the first one and don't know much the different between wait for months to find out season after season what the hell is gonna happen, before they gave the audience clues and idea of the next plot this year they went a bit too far. that's all. and if that was the cliffhanger and we have season 6 in September like any other shoe wouldn't have been that bad.
but 8 months...ugh....nooooo

Well I know LOST isn't like other shows, but I've watched a lot of shows that have cliffhangers in May and didn't come back until January. So I know what it's like to wait months for a show to come back. But I don't know, I think they just went a different method with the cliffhanger this year because it's the last season and they want the show to go out with a bang. But I guess we'll just hvae to agree to disagree.

^LOL yeah I agree. Any other show would be like WTF?!?! But LOST is so crazy and intense like that, that is makes sense. LOST has had some of the craziest cliffhangers, like the season 3 one. I was like GAHHH WTF WTIH?@@*#&$ SOOO good though. The season 3 cliffhanger may be my favorite of any show all time because of the surprise factor I was like OH GODDDD.

that's not their style. they went a bit crazy and I kinda get why, this whole season was a filler, the show was supposed to end with 5 seasons but they had to extend the story a bit more. so they went super fast crazy with getting the O6 back to the island in less than 48 hours, flash 3 years in to the future and no idea what happened during those years, we didn't see a thing and destroying the whole Dharma land in 3 days.

Yeah, the season 3 finale was so freaking shocking. People still talk about how shocking it was today.

it was cool, not really shocking since was like super leaked everywhere, but it was cool that it was a FF.
but in the pilot commentaries TPTB said the losties wouldn't get off the island until season 4 they knew it all along.

^Haha, well I think that's good though, that they had the seasons and storylines planned all along. They really know where it's all headed and they aren't making it up as they go. The end was planned all along, they just needed to get there.

they know the ending since the show started they were creating the middle to make work at the end.

moving the pieces, creating story lines and look if they work or not and stuff. it's pretty awesome.
