well the first day back went okay for me overall

the day was tiring and seemed to drag on

and things were pretty messy/confusing especially at the beginning but better organized as the day went on I suppose

the crowd of students after school was chaos/a lot to deal with though after being so long away

and the return to the long distance work commute I’m definitely not looking forward to/haven’t missed

thinking about trying to get a position at the middle school I graduated from because it’s within walking distance (I had applied before but there was a mixup with the process)

I like most of the staff and community at the school I’m currently at but doing remote teaching for the last year made me realize just how much I felt like I could do my job better without having to do the long commute - less stress, more sleep (my mood was better overall in class I would say)

A long commute after staying remote for over a year would be a hassle! Best of luck if you decide to go to the middle school. What grade to you teach?

I’m currently at a middle school (looks like I’m with 8th grade this year)

yeah they’re required regardless of vaccination status but vaccinations are going to be mandatory soon for all teachers so that will be good

well today this morning was a nightmare with taking the bus again to school for the first time in a year and a half

bus driver stopped several stops ahead of where it’s supposed to and made everyone get off and I was late

That sounds so stressful Allison I think having a shorter commute would def be worth it. Thats so awesome that theyre going to make vaccines mandatory

Our school starts beginning of Sept and we still dont know if masks are required So ridiculous. Masks are def needed.

I wish masks were required here But our governor is punishing schools if they mandate it The other day, the superintendent of the country schools put out a video basically begging students and teachers to wear masks
