Had a lovely evening out in town last night, great meal out with my friend

Sounds like a lovely evening, too bad you were too full to enjoy dessert.

...And I'm sick. Methinks my body is crapping out on me. Okay, it's probably a sinus infection but because I had to call in today I probably won't get paid for Monday (which is a legal holiday here in Canada).

That's how I'm looking at it. Besides, who knows, maybe they never pay for holidays.

I was part time there until this year so I wasn't paid for holidays.

No? I've always felt awkward at them. I think it's only my aunt's Christmas Eve dinner and the Labour Day parties that I have felt comfortable at, anything else and I'd rather be at home watching tv.
