I loved this episode. I need to watch again before forming any real theories/opinions, but I enjoyed the hell out of it.

I've been thinking more on the lying in the coma guy ... the terories suggesting that its Gene and stuff are interesting but surely it would make some sense that who ever it is is the creepy Dr guy that attacked Alex who also seems to be from some point in the future ?

I think that the idea of it being Gene is really intriguing. I mean maybe he hears the name Alex, and some of her information and he processes it as her travelling back in time. Still the idea of Gene being so close to death, so frail is quite upsetting.
