I have a feeling that is what they were going for too. Although Pacey/Joey’s chemistry could not be denied and I am glad we got them as endgame anyway!

I didn't know they got new writers too, but that doesn't surprise me. Like I said, you could feel the shift change with Pacey and they rushed D/J back together. Then they tried to put them back together in S5 too and that didn't work either. Dawson and Joey will never work. They have no chemistry, plus they were very toxic together. So glad we got the real and true ending with Pacey and Joey as endgame! The only (and realistic) way Dawson's Creek should of ended.
