I don't know if anyone at the Pop station, but on Thursdays, they are doing DC marathons. Now, they are on season 1

Aw man, I wish I had that channel. Do they play the original songs?

Only the season 1 episodes has the original Paula Cole music. Almost all the season 1 scenes have the original music except the PJ scene in the truck when they change the Melissa Etheridge song to the Bryan Adams. Someone on youtube has the some of the original music from season 4 in their clips

I don't get Pop, but if I did, I would definitely watch it again even though I have the DVDs.

It's cool. I noticed in the season 1 credits that KH had fourth billing. I must have forgotten. In the season 2 credits, she had second billing. I wonder if Joey wasn't supposed to be as popular as Pacey and Jen

thanks
I was very surprised. I thought Joey was supposed to be more popular than Jen in season 1. I watched Decisions. It had been a long time. The music was exactly the same. I think some of the music was in the series finale too. It showed another instance where Pacey had more of an influence over Joey than Dawson. She spends four hours on a bus with Dawson to see her father and then goes to see him and barely talks to him. She talks to Pacey a day later and he talks about what happened when he was little and she connects with it so much that she decides to talk to her father again and tell him how she feels |
Personally, I didn't really like Joey in S1. I felt she was so mean to Jen when she was nothing but nice to Joey. I know she was jealous of her over Dawson and in general but I thought they made Joey a b*tch in S1.
|
I freakin' loved Joey in Season 1 and I wanted her to get everything she wanted. I remember hating Jen. During my rewatch (in a more grown up age), I feel super guilty about that b/c she was such a great person.
There was a scene where Joey apologized to Jen though.. I forgot everything that was said but it was in the general vicinity of how Joey really didn't have much growing up and when the few things she had was in the process of being taken away, she fought with everything she had to hold onto it. I had mixed feelings about Joey in S1. I wanted her to get the boy (Dawson), but I didn't like how she treated Jen. Jen didn't deserve that at all. I did like that Pacey was there for Joey when she needed him. They may have hated each other, but there were certainly a bond there in S1. |

I was glad when Joey and Jen stopped being enemies. I also agree indifference is worse than hate, I realized that the most with some fanbases always hating on a couple which shows they care. Which is what even happens on here with some bitter D/J and P/A fans always bashing or whining about P/J but never talking about those two couples they claim to love. Pacey and Joey always inspired love or hate (even though I've seen more love for them) TV people only seem to care when you don't give a damn about the couples or characters, they love when people show they love or hate them.
|
Yeah, I was glad when Joey started going a little easier on Jen but I still feel like alot of hate that Joey gets is uncalled for. I was trying to find the quote that Joey said to Jen and I came across a few articles bashing Joey. :look:
Joey was not a perfect character but I like my characters with flaws and trying to get better in life just like the rest of us. |

Yeah, they are always in that anti P/J thread but I never saw the D/J anti thread until someone recently posted in it. I posted in there once cause it was my first time but quickly lost interest. In general, I don't care about Dawson/Joey, their just boring and not even worth the energy.
|
Joey was awful at times, but I forgave her for it because of what she went through as a young girl. Losing her mother at 13 and then losing her father to the law, that has to be traumatizing. And Dawson was pretty much her whole world after that, so of course she is going to try and protect what she had with him.
I may not have liked how she was during those times, but I did feel for her. |

I am the same way, I used to post in the anti DJ thread, but I don't really hate them, I just like them better as friends. It does make me sad to see whenever the anti PJ thread is posted in.
Anyway, I love these two. They were one of my first ships that I remember. |
I don't hate DJ..I just hate what the writers did to them. I don't know what they were thinking writing DJ like they did in Season 5 and 6. Their friendship (which I really did like) just disappeared and without that, DJ just wasn't special. No matter what Pacey and Joey went through, there was ALWAYS an underlying friendship even in Season 1 when they 'hated' each other. This is the reason why I don't think there's any doubt regarding PJ being endgame...I feel like that's where the story was naturally flowing the entire time.

I agree, and every time they broke up it ended viciously and Dawson usually said some cruel things to Joey as well. On the opposite end, Pacey and Joey always had a nice friendship even when they weren't together. Then again, that usually shows the maturity of Pacey and the IMMATURITY of Dawson. Dawson always handled their break ups like a narcissistic child and couldn't even be civil to Joey after they broke up. I also laugh at some wanting to say Pacey and Joey's first time was ruined and awkward but Dawson and Joey's first time was him LYING to Joey about having a girlfriend then they had another vicious break up with them saying cruel things to each other. But Pacey and Joey were the vicious couple that only fought, the hypocrisy and lies are amazing lol. Some need to reevaluate how Dawson and Joey were written, not P/J. Hell, Pacey and Joey had a real relationship in S4 wheras Dawson and Joey never really did. They would give it the good college try for a few days then they imploded. Dawson and Joey were the couple that always fought (mainly over stupid immature sh..) lied to each other (another example, like when they both lied about sleeping with Jack and Jen to hurt the other) and couldn't stay together for more than two weeks.
|
I agree that Pacey showed more maturity than Dawson and above all Pacey showed how much he respected Joey because he always put her feelings first above his own whereas Dawson never did.
|
good points
All couples fight. With the exception of Promicide, I didn't think any of their other fights were as vicious I remember those episodes in season 2. I totally agree how immature they were lying to each other out of jealousy The DJ fight in season 6 after they slept together was very telling.I think there were implications of Dawson never getting over Joey choosing Pacey over him. Joey says will the limitations ever end on that one |
Promicide was their only bad fight (plot driven and all) I also remember when Dawson swore at her like in S2 about that movie he wanted to make (another bizarre, obsessive move from Dawson. Why would you want to make a movie about your girlfriend cheating on you?) When Joey confronted him about it she said that's not healthy and Dawson was like "I don't have time hear you b*tching at me all day!" They got the wrong couple fighting viciously lol.
