Ok, I thought I would go ahead and start this tread because this topic seems to pop up alot lately in all the other threads. We wont' be able to link any fics directly from this board but we all can talk about them to our hearts content with out getting off topic (as we often do)!!! I just love fanfic because they go into the mind of Pacey and Joey so much better than any episode can. Sure some fic is really bad, but you can usually weed those out with the first sentence or two!!

So has anyone started reading True Blue , by non other than Juliet? She has it posted over at ficsnobs right now. She hasn't posted it over at PoTL yet. Oh my...it's great!! Her fics are getting better and better. But the all time best is "Shadows of Starlight". Even though it did run a bit long and wordy, she is by far the best fic writer. One author I really like is helenstl, she writes some good nookie!!! Plus her fics are getting better with each new story, she is improving everytime!!

Thank you, thank you, thank you for starting this fanfic thread, jjobs. But once I get started, I may never leave -- I can get a bit wordy, too... a bit.

I will always recommend Juliet's work, although like I've said before, it's a huge commitment of time, works of always 20 or more chapters. You're basically sitting at the computer reading a novel! But with her, you get so lost in the characters and the settings... that time just flies! Your kids haven't eaten, your housework is not done and it's soon three in the morning. But the best thing is you fall more in love with Pacey than you ever thought you could.

Right now I'm reading "Can't Get There From Here", Juliet's total re-write of season 5. It's so good, and funny at times, I seriously do not want it to end. I even re-read entire chapters before I move on. I also recommend "A Home In You", a warm, satisfying, heartwrenching story of PJ married with 2 kids. And to top it off, "Old, New, Borrowed, Blue", a complete re-write of the Finale in which Joey goes home to Capeside to attend Pacey's wedding.

Thank you for this thread, jjobs...and thank you all for the suggestions for PJ reading. I am new to fanfic, so far I've neglected everything else in my life for the ones I've discovered!! My fiance is getting a bit annoyed with this new fancy of mine. While he could deal with the Josh obsession, he is utterly confused by my need to read fictionalized accounts of fictional characters!!! Go figure !

jjobs, good thread. I only tend to read at PoTL and haven't read all that many but I do love Juliets work and its always good to have a recommendation because a few I've started to read have been questionable Have to agree with you that 'Shadows of Starlight' was brilliant, it was fantastic to read about the PJ summer of sailing (and the nookie )

When I first discovered fanfic, I would stay up to ungodly hours reading, my husaband thought I was nuts!!! But know since I've pretty much caught up on all the stories, I'm just waiting for updates from ones in progress..

You can link to fics as long as they're not on other message boards of course, they should be taken care of by the filters anyway (as you've already seen).


I don't really like reading fics on boards, I prefer them on a clear webpage, that why I mourn sites like CD (thank god I've got it saved). My love for fan fictions has died a little but with all the time I have on my hands, I think I'm going to take a look at the fics you're all talking about

Hi Everyone,

If you like fa Fic you might want to check out my fan fic called Double Trouble (Which was updated by the way for those of you who are reading it) It's located on Roswellfanfic dot com under alternative universe with out Aliens.

It's not a crossover but a combination of the Roswell gang with Dawsons Creek crew. It's mostly Roswell related but teh Dawsons Creek gang is a huge part of it. I include Chris Wolf as well as everyone else from Dawsons Creek and of course Pacey!! Plus Pacey and Joey are together being I am a huge True Love fan!! So far everyone loves how I write Pacey. Aw you got to love the Whitter. So check it out and let me know what you think

I'm glad someone had the nerve to start this, I wanted to so many times, but
chickened out. I have been reading fan fic since the show ended--as far as I can
remember anyway. I don't even know how I came across so many different fic websites,
probably from links, so I've found most of my collection on sites other than POTL..even
if some of them originated there and were "archived."
I'd like a post a message to those of you who are "non-believers" of fan fic. It's just like
watching a soap opera, but more educating! I have watched soaps for 21 years now, and I
was doubtful of reading fan fic, but once you start, you just want to read more and more. I even
feared I would run out of stories to read. Or that all I'd have left is ones that are waiting to be updated..but if you keep digging, you'll find more and more..some not so great, but as long
as POTL is still around, I'm not worried..and if there is a dry spell, my eyes will welcome the break
from the computer!
But, there is one thing I won't do when it comes to fanfic, and that's WRITE it..I will leave that to the Pro's. My writing leaves something to be desired, as in years of training! I tried it once on the DC thread, when we were doing fic challenges for the finale or something. Mine was embarassing, to say
the least. It sounded alright in my head, but blahhhhh otherwise. So, I am in awe of those who can pull one off and aren't even getting paid for their brilliance.
