Has anyone else found the irony in the fact that Fiona Shaw who portrays Marnie, the head of the witch coven is also the same woman who portrays the biggest witch hater Aunt Petunia in Harry Potter? I thought that was really funny that Alan Ball chose her to play this part!! I'm interested in seeing how her character develops over the season. This season has started off with bang! Can't wait to see what is going to happen next! Love me some True Blood! They are all fantastic!

that was the first thing that popped into my head when I read the casting news. I was like "well I guess Aunt Petunia wants her revenge!"



and Marnie has been one of the things I was looking forward to the most since I heard about it. I was so happy she made her first appearance so early on. I think she was fantastic...



I can't wait to see more of her.

haha, that's why her face was so familiar to me, i couldn't remember from where, when you said Harry Potter it clicked . I like her as a witch in TB, she is great.

I also look forward to more of Marnie's character in the weeks to come. I already took a sneak peek at episode 2! OMG I can't wait till everyone gets to see it and we get to discuss it! Love her! Especially since I am a HP fanatic. She's an amazing actor and she portrayed her character very well. She has a difficult role to play, a tad crazy, but she nails it

I couldn't find a thread about Wiccans so I made this one.

I am a Wiccan Witch High Priestess and I wanted to clarify something about the Wiccans on True Blood and how they are portrayed on the show.

I know it was meant to make things more dramatic on the show, but Wiccans don't curse people nor do we raise the dead.

Wicca is a religion and not necessarily every Wiccan call themselves Witches. I wanted to speak out for Wiccans and state that we are not as the Wiccans on the show are portrayed as. There are Wiccan Witches and Traditional Witches.

We are very peaceful people and most of us go by the Wiccan Rede that states "If it harms none; do as you will". We appreciate Nature and every living being and would never lay a curse on anyone nor try to raise the dead.

In fact, most of us Wiccans are into herbal and natural healing, as am I. I would never harm any living creature.

There are people out there that do not know what Wicca is and I felt I needed to clarify just who we are so those that watch the show don't get the wrong impression about us and that we are evil.
