I think what was hard for Olivia to realize is that there was no reason for Peter to suspect - or even dream - that the Olivia he was with was anyone other than the "real" Olivia. I mean - who would think that? Even though he knew that such a thing existed, it was still such a new thing and a bizarre thing that it just wouldn't cross his mind. Even if she seemed to act differently, I don't think we can expect Peter's first thought to be "Oh - she must be a doppleganger from another universe!" He'd probably just think that she lets her hair down a bit when she's not working.

I always picture Peter being more comfortable with the whole parenting thing. Like he would jump right in and just start changing diapers and such. Olivia would read all sorts of books and be constantly worried about getting it right.
