I wonder if they are doing rewrites again. They announced before they started on S2 that it would focus on the Atlanta child murders, but now they say they are casting children "for a new plot line" focused on the murders. Since Netflix usually releases an entire season all at once, if they aren't actually finished with S2, it may be a while yet before we get a date.

They could be?

OK. Perhaps they don't. I can't find any info on the web as to who owns the rights to Mindhunter.

Fair enough

Regardless I think we're going to be waiting awhile anyways

Yeah, I think so too.

I mean it was developed and streaming by them but who knows this stuff is complicated

Mindhunter is produced by a company called Denver and Delilah Productions, which was founded by Charlize Theron. Charlize originally pitched the idea to David Fincher, so I suspect she or her company own the rights. It was originally going to be done with HBO, but then they switched to Netflix as the distributor.

Thanks for the info

She looks beautiful there

Does make a bit worried that Netflix don't own it though

Thanks for that :nod:

All of this is already complicated enough and now more and more steaming services are popping up :lol:

stlavin95 12-11-2018 03:12 AM

True :lol:

FoxPhile 12-11-2018 04:07 PM

It's getting less common for the distributor of a show - those being the broadcast network or streaming service - to actually own a show. Even the big 3 networks - CBS, NBC and ABC - often don't actually own many of the shows they broadcast. Which does put another wrinkle in the whole renewal process, because companies are sometimes a bit more willing to renew a show that is borderline if they actually own it, because they don't have the expense of paying another company for the privilege. But it's also part of what has made it possible for some shows to be cancelled by one company and picked up by another. So it has its good points, too.

stlavin95 12-11-2018 04:46 PM

That is true

@l3jandra 12-13-2018 01:27 PM

Makes sense

stlavin95 12-13-2018 03:32 PM

Yes it does

Ropetuned 12-13-2018 10:01 PM

I just want shoes to at least have a fair shot at making an intended ending

stlavin95 12-13-2018 11:55 PM

Me too

Ropetuned 12-14-2018 03:50 PM

Indeed :nod: I don't know if someone edited it or what

stlavin95 12-14-2018 04:00 PM

They probably did

FoxPhile 12-15-2018 04:08 PM

So many shows these days have continuing stories. It's really jarring when they end suddenly and leave things hanging.

@l3jandra 12-16-2018 08:31 AM

Sucks when shows get cancelled

FoxPhile 12-16-2018 01:53 PM

Occasionally the producers and writers know in time that the show is going to end and they can plan for a decent ending - like they did with Fringe. But even knowing in advance, they sometimes still really botch it.
