September 22, 2009 - "Lost" premieres?

Premiered 'over here' on September 22, 2004.

"Lost" would have had to have premiered five years later in the alternate universe for a deleted scene from the Season 1 finale, “Exodus, Part 2”, to have aired in 2010 (unless it was a repeat).

In it we see a quick shot of Australian Claire Littleton (Emilie de Ravin) and Oceanic 815 pilot Seth Norris (Greg Grunberg) chatting in the Sydney airport before the flight takes off, indicating that Australia also exists in the alternate universe.

“Exodus, Part 2” aired 'over here' on May 25, 2005 while "The Man from the Other Side" aired on April 22, 2010.

The most fascinating part for me is that a scene deleted in this universe was aired in the alternate universe. Is that because the producers/editors felt the scene was more important and they cut something else, or is it because the don't have as many commercials and so are able to include more scenes? Or maybe series episodes are just longer over there. Last and most bizarre - maybe the Earth rotates slightly slower, so days and hours are a bit longer?

I believe that the producers/editors felt the scene was more important and perhaps cut something else.

I would have really liked to have known exactly when "Lost" premiered in the AU.

The only clear-cut evidence that Mexico exists in the alternate universe among other things.

It's interesting that the state boundaries are almost all the same, except for a few states that have been combined into one - and Texas which is split. The most interesting difference I find is that most of the California coast is part of Mexico. Where is the movie industry located in the alternate universe? Do they still sing "From sea to shining sea?" Is there a Golden Gate Bridge?

We didn't on the television series. It was part of a "Fringe" companion site.

If this Hoboken, New Jersey store is any indication, the movie industry would still be located in Hollywood, California in the alternate universe. "The Plateau".

Another clue is from the Fringe Season 2 Press Kit-William Bell's New York Post Newspaper article 'Guns N' Roses Chinese Democracy Rerelease' from 2009:

Guns N' Roses front man Axl Rose has confirmed that "Chinese Democracy", the band's milti-platnum album from 2000, will be digitally remastered and rereleased to mark its 10th anniversary. In addition to its original 14 tracks, including all four #1 hits, the collector's edition will feature two new songs, studio demo recordings, and audio commentaries from both Rose and lead guitarist Slash. Rose made the announcement during the band's street performance Sunday outside the famed Whiskey a Go Go on Sunset Blvd. in West Hollywood, California. The mob of fans shut down traffic for four blocks in each direction.

The only clue that the Golden Gate Bridge probably also exists 'over there' as well is that San Francisco Bay appears on this map of the alternate United States from "Over There Part 2". Much further south, but still there.

This would make San Francisco and Los Angeles much closer to each other 'over there'.

'Over Here' the Golden Gate Bridge spans the Golden Gate, the one-mile-wide strait connecting San Francisco Bay and the Pacific Ocean. The bridge links San Fran to its northern suburbs in Marin County, California. 'Over There' the bridge could still perform the same function, only the Golden Gate strait would not connect with the Pacific Ocean.

They would still still sing "From sea to shining sea" 'over there', because the states of Oregon and Southern British Columbia (Washington 'over here') still border the Pacific Ocean.

Looks like the Mexican–American War had a slightly different outcome.

So much for "The Big One".

Alternate Universe Thread #1: Because there really is more than one of everything.

This hot pic of Peter from "The Plateau" also gives us many insightful views of the alternate universe.

Notice the posters for America Travel with the jet airplane.

The one on the left features the Eiffel Tower in Paris, France along with the French flag. (Proof that all exist in the AU.)

The one on the right features 3 daily flights from New York to Miami via Antarea Airships.

Jet airplanes and airships co-exist harmoniously in the alternate universe along with zeppelins.

Apparently, there is a difference between airships and zeppelins in the alternate universe.

Conventional bikes co-exist harmoniously with penny-farthers.

The Hoboken Terminal also exists in the alternate universe.

Batteries also still exist in the alternate universe.

America Travel does exist in this universe with a different logo.
