2.06: Wild Alaskan Salmon

JENNIE GARTH GUEST STARS — Kelly (Jennie Garth) and Silver (Jessica Stroup) deal with the shocking news that their mother, Jackie (guest star Ann Gillespie, “Beverly Hills, 90210”), is dying of breast cancer. Kelly doesn’t want to be sucked back into her mother’s bad behavior, but Silver feels differently. Navid’s (Michael Steger) world is turned upside down when Adrianna (Jessica Lowndes) reveals that she needs time alone, but turns to Teddy (Trevor Donovan) for attention. Jen (Sara Foster) continues to manipulate Naomi (AnnaLynne McCord) and manages to convince Naomi to lend her a large amount of cash. Jasper (guest star Zach Sherman) rescues Annie (Shenae Grimes) from a bad date and the two forge a bond that will be hard to break. Harry (Rob Estes) accompanies Ryan (Ryan Eggold) to a bar for some guy time and attempts to be his wing man. Lori Loughlin, Tristan Wilds and Matt Lanter also star. Liz Friedlander directed the episode written by Mark Driscoll (#206).

The previews definitely amped this episode up. I can't wait.

I've been enjoying the show/season tremendously. My favorite of the teen shows right now. Without a doubt.

And I knew that Teddy was going to tell Navid, I knew it!

Okaaaay, that wasn't as bad for Navid/Ade fans as I thought it would be. They hammered in that Ade felt for Navid for the whole episode, and that she did realize what she lost. But they didn't make Navid punk out either.

Plus, angsty Navid is adorable.

Please can we have more Navid/Liam. I love it whenever they're alone. Moody plus quirky totally works for me. Dixon just kinda flew in and out, didn't he? He was barely in this episode. I was shocked he was included in the final montage with that jailbait-addict Sasha.

The rest of the ep was actually pretty good.

Jasper's a really interesting kid. He could really be the next Emily Valentine. He and Shenae have this funky, interesting chemistry and he kept me awake for some of the duller moments. I didn't expect the keying of Mark's car.

I actually did like the Jen/Naomi horseride fight. Naomi stuck up for herself which was nice to see. But of course, Jen got right back into her good graces. Boy is it going to sting when the truth comes out. The scenes where they were discussing her finances were pretty boring. I got distracted by the pretty horses.

Harry was actually really funny tonight. I'm glad they gave a shot out to Tabby, for a hangover drink recipe no less. Plus Harry and Ryan at the bar was entertaining in a lame way. Ryan still got game.

Gag at the Teddy/Ade action. He looked so old when he was across the room at the Beach Club, 30 at least.

Then, he was swinging around for whatever reasons. Mr. Bubbles is a player. Surprise, surprise. He looked like he didn't even care that much when Adrianna left.

LOVED the Naomi/Ade scene. It was pretty sweet, and I think (I'm hoping) that it might mean that Naomi/Liam and Ade/Navid have similar destinies: off and on again angst, with a payoff near the end of the season. Maybe?

The best moment for me, however, was when Silver walked in and Jackie had to put on that wig. I had that exact same thing happen with my grandmother. It really touched my heart. Kelly had valid reasons for keeping Silver/Jackie away from each other, but from a personal standpoint, I admire what Silver is doing. Best storyline of the night.

Tonight was a filler epi. right? the N/A breakup felt so.........I'm gonna be honest LOL/frustrating, Adrianna sees Ken Doll, ignores Navid, breaks up w/ him, the LOL moment that text, "HEY I JUST BROKE UP w/ NAVID, I'M FINALLY FREE!" Like WTF Adrianna.

Silver/Kelly/Jackie was I guess the beginning of thier realization to how messed up they are.

A quick Liam/Dixon/Navid scene then they disappeared for most of the epi. except :42 seconds to the end when Dixon went for his bootycall w/ his statutatory rapist Sasha.

Ryan/Harry filler, Jen/Naomi filler again.

if not for Jasper/Annie this epi. would have KO'd me to a pillow.
