It really is. So I asked this I the TPBM thread but I’ll bring it over here too. Which songs from this EP has your favorite lyrics or, actually, which lyrics stand out to you the most?

I like the lyrics to Ghost Magnetic the best, partly because it’s my favorite too.
I love this a lot from Ghost Magnetic: We bring our souls in close For a toast to the afterlife We hold our breath, no regret, Dead set on the dead inside But let me share my faves from each song, minus the cover. Gimme Heartbreak: It’s an instant reaction You’re like the drug inside my vein Another welcome distraction One more shot of Novocaine The Lucky Ones: So tell me everything, I’ll be your amphetamine I’ll be the whisper living in your ear Warfare: But no matter where it turns We got that love forever burn You’re the war and I’m your soldier Circles: We scratch and itch and tear each other apart Then pull each other up Brush off the dust and stagger back to the start |

Those are all great choices! I love the "I’ll be the whisper living in your ear" lyric in The Lucky Ones and how he says "ear" especially.
All in all the lyrics are all very dark and there are a lot of drug references. (Btw, how do you like the OP? I added it when I opened this thread. ) __________________

The OP is great! Sorry for not acknowledging, oops.
Oh yeah, I agree about The Lucky Ones. |

Thanks! And I thought I'd finally do it.
I also still love the way he says "mirror" and "here" and makes them rhyme in it. Btw, I was reading the lyrics from Analog Heart the other day and it occured to me that Stitches and Circles are kinda similar songs what comes to the composition and arrangement. I mean they don't sound like traditional David songs, they are both even a bit jarring. (How sad is it that I came up with a discussion topic now? ) __________________

I’m going to go back and listen to both songs right now to compare, thanks for bringing it up. Speaking of Stitches, wasn’t that one of your least favorites from Analog Heart?

I haven't listening to Stitches in awhile, it's catchier than I remembered. I did notice the repetition of of "Stitch me up and bleed me out" is similar to the repetition of "we're running in circles". I don't have the best ear when it comes to discussing arrangement and all but but I can say that I like Circles a bit more as a song and I agree that both aren't traditional David songs you hear, especially Circles.
