Girl has a crush on the boy, more specifically a Russian Prince. Prince never sees girl as anything more than a friend. "You always have to be my friend, see. You can never spit in my face and tell me that you don't want to see me again. Well you can, but you can't mean it." Of course the girl agrees with that arrangement in 1999. To rewind back to 1997, where Emily and Nikolas shared their first kiss of course Nikolas was taken off guard and Emily was embarrassed but it becomes the running track record joke for their future scenes, "Our first kiss was in this park. You remember?" "I know, little teenage Emily, kiss me without warning, stuck her tongue half way down my throat she did." They became the pairing with three first kiss, and the third real one is in 2004 after Emily realize how alive she is around Nikolas. This time they both felt the undeniable feelings from that one. Who would know that- that teenage girl with a crush on Nikolas would end up being the Prince greatest love. In 2003, Emily asked her first crush to do her a favor. To pretend to be in love with her just for Zander (her first boyfriend) would not want to be with her and watch her died. At first, he seemed reluctant but joined in on the plan... however, for him it was never really pretend. Which he sort of declared before their real first kiss.


Nikolas falling for Emily more than a friend was always unique to it because, Nikolas was arranged to marry a person he didn't love (Lydia Karenin) to save his family from losing their fortune and of course because of him being a Prince. Falling in love with Emily was something his family was very much against. Emily wanted Nikolas to save his family, and not choose her. She didn't want Nikolas to ever regret choosing her over his family, what she didn't know is that Nikolas was already in too deep. His love for her has blossomed to the point of no return. He once told Lydia that, "I may be marrying you but Emily has my heart." And that's how Emily first learned of Nikolas feelings for her.

Finally after months of sneaking around, and working around their undeniable feelings for one another, it was clear that they could no long resist being together and Emily finally choose to be with Nikolas, and she made it clear to Zander, not caring about hurting him because she couldn't deny her strong love for her once first crush. They made love for the first time that day, and proceeded to have a relationship with no regret. Also, Emily would know that just because Nikolas comes from money and is labeled a Prince, there was more to him than that. The person she was in love would rather marry for love over money, he would make his family go bankruptcy to be with her and he spoke no less than six languages fluently and he actually does have a graduation degree. "You know whenever I count my blessings, you're first on my list. Your the one person I truly love with all of my heart."As time goes on, the Prince eventually would marry who he really loved. His Princess. Supercouple was definitely what they were.

Against all odds they were making it however, because of the three enemies in: Mary, Connor Bishop and Helena, life would become a lot tougher for them. Connor Bishop was a Nikolas look-alike and because Nikolas was in jail (because of Helena's supposedly death) Emily shared a bit of time with Connor, who she got to act like Nikolas at one time... however, he becomes obsessed with taking Nikolas life since he believed Nikolas took his. He rapes Emily, and because of that it made it difficult for Emily to even see Nikolas without seeing Connor. Even when Nikolas found out about the rape, he felt guilty and blamed himself and begged Emily not to push him away, "You are the only woman, that I'll ever love. Do you understand that?" Sadly, months later, and breakup and Courtney, they would get a divorce but feelings are still clearly there. They remain friends and Courtney sees the love between them. "What's unacceptable is spending the rest of my life pretending that you're just my friend. God I love you. I never stopped loving you." Those were the words that brought them back together in late 2006.

Because of Nikolas brief relationship with Courtney Matthews in 2005, he would have a son Spencer in 2006, however Courtney died and eventually Emily was named the Godmother. In 2007, when they seemed to be heading in the right direction, Nikolas had to break things off with Emily to protect her, and he couldn't even look into her eyes as he told her he didn't love her. Emily for one second didn't believe that, "Nikolas your deliberately trying to hurt me and you would never do that. That's how I know your lying." The lie didn't last longer than a day because Nikolas had to admit he was protecting her.

"I'm so in love with you. I don't want to leave you."

Things were finally looking up for these two soulmates. However, Nikolas starts to have blackouts for some reason in 2007. And during these blackouts, it seems he commits a few murders that he doesn't remember. Of course Emily is concerned and believe Nikolas needs to check himself with the doctor but he just wants to renew their beautiful love at a nice ball... that night would be end tragically as Emily would be strangled to death by the Text Message Killer... when Nikolas found her, it was like half of his heart was ripped opened, "It doesn't work with you." He even became in denial, believing that Emily is asleep and he will rest by her side until she wakes up. Sadly, she wasn't sleep, she died... and it took months for Nikolas to accept that. He even found a way to keep her with him as he saw her in visions.

One thing for sure though is that Emily was completely correct when she once stated, "What Nikolas and I shared was once in the life time." That was the way she felt when she thought he died, and ever since Emily died. The void of her absence never completely got filled.
