I really enjoyed the new years episode of eastenders and i dont think this will be the last we see of dean.

Eastenders
I don't watch often but was excited to hear about Jack's return and reunion with Ronnie. I always loved them together before the gigantic mess of that baby swap when their baby son died. :(

Coronation Street
I'm worried that once Kate Oakes as producer takes effect that it's going to become one affair after another like she's done to Emmerdale in the last year. :mad:

Emmerdale
Emmerdale has great characters/storylines but has been lacking proper aftermaths to alot of long-running storylines. They also shove very well documented unliked couples down viewers throats (such as Debbie/Ross :rolleyes:). The Johnny paternity revelation is probably going to be the first storyline in quite awhile to get a legitimate aftermath.

Hollyoaks
I love the Joe/Mercedes and Ste/Harry relationships right now and the overall storylines are slowly getting better.

I'm happy to discuss Eastenders and Hollyoaks with you I don't watch the other two.

I like Jack and Ronnie too, she's always been one of my favourite characters although I'm not too sure about where they are going with her character at the moment do they want her to be some kind of villain or someone we can sympathise with as after what happened with Fatboy I'm not so sure! I know it wasn't intentional but when actions start to have dire consequences like that it can start to change a character regarding what's acceptable in their quest for whatever it is they are after.

I'm pretty sure we will be seeing Dean again as well I'm just glad he finally admitted what he'd done.

What do you guys think of the whole Stacey, Kush & Shabnam situation? I'm team Shabnam all the way I've always liked Stacey but I think this whole storyline is very distasteful after the stillbirth and her depression thing although I understand it happens and it's an important issue to cover I feel like it then paints Stacey as the victim and undermines what she has done to Shabnam and Martin etc.

As for Hollyoaks I'm so annoyed Freddie's alive yet they killed Ziggy I'd swap those two any day. Plus is Freddie saying he still loves Lindsay even after she tried to murder him if they go back down that route it will be ridiculous. I must admit I do enjoy watching Lindsay a lot more now, she's always hovering behind someone with a knife or needle it's hilarious!

So how about last nights Hollyoaks I didn't expect Patrick to end up being the body in the wall I always thought it would be one of Lindsay's victims!

I can't believe Darren's gotten involved in this I mean understand wanting to help Maxine but to get rid of a body :eek: and now I bet Nancy thinks he's having an affair!

Niko is proper nuts now her others 'murders' were technically accidents but she meant this one she's worse than her mother then again she's probably the reason she is how she is I mean having people like Sienna, Patrick and Will in your family isn't going to help keep you normal!

I love UK soaps, I haven't seen really any of Eastenders or Corrie, but I loved Hollyoaks when it used to be good and I really love Emmerdale. I think I know more about Emmerdale and it's cast then I do about any US soaps.

I know i really didnt think it would be Patrick in the wall either.

Poor old aaron in emmerdale starting to hurt himself again.

And a big week in walford with stacey.

I just wish Emmerdale would handle the self harm storyline better. At least put up warnings of him self harming for people with triggers. Or helplines if anyone wants to call a number to discuss more on what they saw.

Same I'd swap Freddie for Ziggy anyday because not only did I prefer Ziggy but he'd have something to come back to (Teegan who he'd finally gotten together with :love:) unlike Freddie who seems unaware that he has nothing left because Lindsay is a serial killer and she wants him dead. I know Trevor is one of the bad guys of the show but I love him and hate that he is currently behind bars (and losing his family) framed for Lindsey's psychotic crimes. It does my head in the underhanded tricks Lindsey has pulled to come betwen Joe/Mercedes.

Ziggys exit was kinda random, there is someone in the UK that seems to get spoilers on the show way in advance (I don't know if they work there or know someone who does) and they as good as confirmed to us on the Digital Spy Soap Forum that Lindsay was the killer but they also told us Ziggy was leaving at Xmas and this was months in advance so I knew it was a possibility as their spoilers have always been spot on. I don't know whether the actor wanted to leave as that's the only reason I can see him leaving as like you said they had finally gotten him with Tegan after months of build up!

How can Freddie not know Lindsay tried to kill him he saw it happening that's unless he doesn't remember that. I don't know, the show can be kinda ridiculous sometimes so I wouldn't put it past them having him disregard what she's done and still want her and Lindsay will change her mind like the wind and decide she loves Freddie after all or some such nonsense. Joe's heart is very much with Mercedes now problem is I can't see them staying together long knowing Mercedes reputation! Also Lindsay is supposed to be found out some time this year so I'm guessing she will be leaving maybe she could run away and take Freddie with her so they can both be gone!

I don't mind Trevor he's not as bad as some of the villains on the show!

Hey Cheerios when you say when Hollyoaks used to be good are you referring to Bryan Kirkwood's (EP) original reign from I think 2006- 2010? When they had Hannah's eating disorder, McDean, Niall and the McQueens, Fire in the Dog and stuff because if so that for me was hands down the shows best period. That's the only time I've felt the show came close to the standard of EE etc. I don't know what's happened to BK second time round he seems to have lost the plot a bit. Stories and characters are no way near as well written now.

I've heard it was Fab Santino's decision to exit his role as Ziggy. How far in advance do Hollyoaks film? I'm curious because if it's over 2-3 months then I really wish they'd reunited Zeegan at the start of December instead of wasting all the time up until the reunion of Teegan rejecting Ziggy out of some very misgued loyalty to that selfish sister of hers Leela.

Well we dont know what Freddie's condition was when the police realized he wasnt dead so it's possible that he can't remember that it was Lindsay who tried to kill him. That or he just doesn't care about sending Trevor down for Lindsey's crime tbh I wouldnt put it past Freddie for that to be exactly correct. If Frindsey dont run off together (I'd pray they dont take JJ) I'd expect that Freddie will eventually hook up with that nasty tramp Ellie. I've never been a big fan of Freddie's but his reaction to finding out about Ziggy's death was well done by Charlie.

Wolf Eyes, yup I am. I did enjoy Ste and Brendan as well. But the only time I enjoyed the show as a whole was back then. Now I just shake my head at it all. Wait...Ziggy is dead? Tegan and Ziggy finally get together and Ziggy dies? WTF?

I do not want Pete and Moira to become something on Emmerdale. I think they are great together, but I love Cain and Moira too much. And I'm so sick of the affairs, why does Emmerdale have to become affair central? Honestly soap affairs are boring to me, most of them are just sex and don't mean anything. And I kinda always finds that boring and lazy writing.

Yes Zeegan finally got together in the December 24th christmas special (and it was beautiful I posted a vid of it in one of the other threads) and Ziggy died very shortly after peacefully sitting in the pub. He died from injuries he sustained in a explosion while saving Leela. :bawl:

That's so sad, they were cute together (well the bits and pieces I saw of them together.) It was clear there was a real and genuine deep love between them.
