I did not see her until I think "Cruel Intentions". It was either that or in "Buffy the Vampire Slayer". Didn't even know that she had been on "All My Children" while it aired.

I was a kid when SMG was on AMC, but I don't think she was really famous when she was on AMC. She was also only AMC for two years, so I guess it could of been easy to miss. I think SMG really blew up on Buffy The Vampire Slayer. I do think Buffy was her best role, followed by Kendall, then Kathryn. She killed those roles!

I've seen only a bit of SMG as Kendall but what I've seen was awesome!! Alicia played a softer/romantic Kendall, SMG more of a bold vixen. I love them both. I'd love to see more of SMG's Kendall. I will be on the lookout for more clips as I didn't start watching AMC till later.

There are many clips and episodes with SMG as Kendall, so you should find some. Kendall was always interesting to watch, but now it's easy to tell Kendall was a delusional sociopath back then, especially about her rapist and pedophile father. I'm sure most people loved when she caused chaos, but I love Kendall the most towards the end of SMG's run. She got with Del (Who was much better than whiny, childish Anton who was always treating her like crap and using her to get back at Dimitri. That's what she settled for, but I still hated seeing her to get treated like that. Especially the hypocrisy with everyone acting like Anton is a victim when he was a manipulative POS himself) accepted the mistakes she made in the past, and left the show with dignity. Her last scene with Erica is on YT and it's such a great scene between them. It's just too bad they acted like it didn't even happen when they recasted Kendall years later and like they didn't make peace before she left SMH.

I don't recall Kendall being 16 when she first came to the show, then they suddenly made her 23. WTF! I have no memory of that at all, but I'm not surprised since soaps are screwing up people's ages all the time. Especially when they SORAS the kids all the time too. That sounds like a rare case with Kendall though, cause they usually don't have people come on as teenagers then have them suddenly become 20 somethings. Usually they will be a baby, toddler, or pre-teen, then catapult them into a teenager or an adult.

I did not know that birthdays get revised on soap operas or maybe that was just for Kendall.

It was probably because Erica wasn't visibly pregnant, but on screen throughout the 70's. So, as a result, they had to make Kendall's birth and conception before the show started in 1970 to fit in with the timeline despite hiring a teenager. I do remember Sarah joking that she was a teen playing a twenty something then as a twenty something was playing a teen.

I have been thinking about AMC a lot lately. Of the ABC soaps, it was my most favorite overall. I really miss it. I had so many favorite couples & characters. It was flawed, sure, but it just felt like home to me.

I only watched AMC and OLTL, and AMC was always my favorite soap opera. It was the best in the 90s, especially 1994 to 1996 IMO. The best thing about AMC will always be Noah/Julia for me. They are the first couple I really got invested in and my favorite couple of all time.

^^ Well, it was flawed in that the writing had some weak points at certain eras, just like any show does. Like the Charles Pratt years were pretty uneven. Even some of the actors complained about the writing then. BUT I'd still watch those AMC years over any soap now lol AMC was classic soap to me.

I think the show never recovered after 1996, most of the storylines and characters after that are horrible. I can't believe how long I continued to watch after that after rewatching some of those episodes the last few years. That sounds like nothing compared to the late 2000s and the years before the show was cancelled where it was the damn Zach and Ryan show. Blech.

Oh the 90's were def the best. And by the Charles Pratt years, I meant the headwriter. His stuff was uneven. Okay, he was just bad. He wrote during the height of some of the Ryan/Zach absurdity in 2008-2010. The stuff was crazy! There was the infamous Ryan/Erica romance
