Him
Theodore Evelyn Mosby is portrayed by Josh Radnor. In 2030, Ted sat down to tell
his kids the story of how he met their mother. Beginning in 2005, Ted's meandering
journey has taken him through many failed relationships, including being left at the
altar. But the architect-turned-professor isn't giving up on his search for the perfect woman.

Her
Robin Charles Scherbatsky, Jr. is portrayed by Cobie Smulders. She is a
Scotch-drinking, cigar-smoking, gun-toting Canadian pop-star-turned-journalist-turned-
morning-show-host. Robin befriended the gang in 2005 after an awkward date with Ted
Mosby. She is the fiercely independent woman of the group who also has a hidden soft side.

Benefits was a good episode. I didn't buy into the no emotions thing. How can there not be when just a few episodes earlier Robin was telling Ted not to get married and a few episodes after benefits they made a deal to get married at 40 if they were still single. No emotions? haha please!

And you made a good point.

Robin told Ted that she couldn't watch him get married to Stella and that her feelings for him never went away right before that episode, and after the episode, Ted asked her to be his backup wife and Robin accepted.

Yep, you're correct about the clues, Amber.

The ones early on were the most telling for me. I kinda wish they had Robin realize right after her and Ted's moment in Central Park that she just wasn't okay with getting married to someone else, but they had to put us through that season nine stuff.

IKR? I hate that they had to marry other people but at the same time I think that their individual growth and the time they spent apart made their reunion all the more special

Yeah, but I still wish we got to see how that happened. I would've liked to have seen how Robin started becoming part of Ted, Penny, and Luke's family after Tracy's death.

Another good episode was when Ted and Robin were trying to catch a flight to Chicago.

And FF keeps shrinking my pics.

Oh, I totally wish we could have seen her become part of the family too..it could have easily replaced a filler episode

I don't know what's up with FF and these pics, Amber.

Yeah, considering we got to know Ted and Robin during their relationship in season 2, and would've liked to have seen how they had grown in the future and how they got close again.

I'd need an entire season for that.

An entire season would have been great! I would enjoy that way more than the last season they gave us

Yeah, I definitely needed some reconciliation scenes between Ted and Robin leading up to their reunion.

It would've made their getting back together seem a lot more earned.

I had a problem with that episode tho. Ted said Robin never made him feel needed...what about him talking her sister out of having sex, giving her a place I live..twice, her coming to him when she's in trouble. I hated how they tried to put T/R down to prop up that other relationship

You know, I didn't like that either.

Bays and Thomas were so intent on their misdirection in order to surprise the audience with their trick ending, they made Ted and Robin do a lot of illogical things that didn't make sense, or contradicted things they had said or done earlier.

I was thinking that maybe some of the other writers weren't let in on how it would end and maybe that is where the contradictions come in? Idk but it is definitely frustrating
