Lot's of questions about Skins series 7. We start filming next month, It'll be on sometime early next year I imagine.

I can't say much more about it (cast, content etc), as Channel 4 will want to announce it officially. Out of my hands!

Hey Guys. It's me (yes, really - check twitter).

Sorry about the message I posted on twitter the other night. I was in a bad mood. Make no mistake, I love the fandom (for the most part) and only want to please. But you can imagine it's sometimes hard when I come in for such a ribbing on here and other places online. I really don't mind criticism of my writing. It's criticism of ME that really bothers me. And there's a lot of it. For one reason or another, the decisions we (not just me) took, particularly in the 3rd and 4th series really upset some people (particularly in the online community - they are not, I would cautiously add, universally held). That's fine. You're perfectly entitled. There's a sort of unspoken contract held between the fandom and the creators - we have license to do whatever the **** we want, and you have license to love it, or indeed, hate it. But I would urge you to not attack writers personally. Judge the work, not the man, is what the always wise Jack Thorne said on twitter after the Freddie/Foster thing blew up on twitter.

I am working my arse off to deliver a finale that with blow your collective socks off. It's 1:30am and I'm writing it right now. Will it be good? Yes. Will it please everyone? No. Should it? No. If everyone's happy, you're doing something wrong. Good art should provoke, inspire, annoy, delight, offend, empower. That's what Skins is for. That's the reason it exists. And for all it's faults, I think we've done that with every single episode. If we fail, well, at least we tried. So much on our screens is willing to settle for the familiar, the safe, the easy. The day Skins is any of those things, that's the day we stop.

Thanks for letting me rant. I'll leave you alone now. We'll have an announcement about next year very soon. We've just got to make sure everything is in place first, which I think it just about is. If you like, after we announce, I can come back here and do a q and a. You can ask me anything you like.
