Series 1

Michelle begins series one as a girl who appears to find difficulty defining herself outside of her troubled relationship with Tony. When forced to face the truth about Tony’s treatment of her she begins to find a strength she probably didn’t know she had. After breaking up with him she refuses to take him back until she is sure he has developed some sort of respect for her and their relationship. Just after Tony realises he has real feelings for Michelle he is hit by a bus which Michelle hears over the phone.


Series 2

As series two begins it can be seen that there has been a bit of a breakdown in the group and Michelle especially seems to be struggling with Tony’s lack of memory. As her mum moves in with her new husband Michelle begins to feel isolated from the group and when her birthday comes she chooses to sit on the beach and quietly watch rather than join in with their fun. She and her once long time admirer Sid begin a relationship to help deal with the loneliness they both feel. As Tony recovers and remembers how he felt about Michelle he fights to win her back, and the two slowly begin to rekindle.
After Chris’s death Michelle comes through for Jal. Having previously been rather self centred whenever it came to her best friend Michelle proves that when it counts she really is there for her friends and knows exactly what to say to make Jal smile again. When Michelle’s A level results come in at the end of series 2 she finds that she has earned the grades required to study at York, and so she and Tony part ways, finally both happy with what happened between them.
