i didn't notice the bag. i thought her mother had gotten her the necklace when she called the jewelers. and i was surprised and "aw"ing over when it turned out he was the one who got the necklace, not her mother...

note: this will never happen to me again because i am now MUCH more attentive to detail, but i was still in awe at the time of how much i really liked the show considering that i almost stopped DVRing it after A Handmaiden's Tale. so instead of noticing all the little details during the CN scene, i think i was trying to remember things about their friendship from previous episodes (b/c i hadn't cared much about them until i fell in love with C in VV) and just loving the entire exchange and the fact that N didn't know what happened. :lol:

Sometimes it takes a few times of watching an episode to pick up on some of the details.
