Aisha Tyler Discusses Mood on 'Criminal Minds' Set After Thomas Gibson Firing : People.com

It's been a month since Thomas Gibson was let go from Criminal Minds, and the former leading man's costar Aisha Tyler tells PEOPLE that "fans are going to miss him."

The 45-year-old actress, who plays Dr. Tara Lewis on the CBS series, discussed how the mood is on set since Gibson was fired after an on-set physical altercation with a writer.

"It's a show that's been going on for a long time and a lot of the team has been together for a long time," Tyler tells PEOPLE.

"It's a show that fans love. They connect with the stories. They connect with the theme of the show, which is about smart people out there trying to make the world safer for everybody," she continued of the CBS drama. "That hasn't changed."

Though Gibson is no longer a cast member on the 12-season series, she acknowledges that his presence will not go unnoticed.

"Thomas was an incredible part of the show for a very long time," she says. "I know fans are going to miss him."

So how will the writers behind the Emmy-nominated series handle 54-year-old Gibson's departure?

"I know what's going to happen, but I cannot tell you," Tyler quips. "I do know what's going to happen, but I'm sworn to secrecy."

Criminal Minds returns for season 12 on Sept. 28 on CBS.

Headline for the clip was misleading , she didn't say what the mood was on set after the firing . She just said , of course she knows the storyline for Hotch exit from the show . It was like click bait . Frankly would've liked her to mention more about the new season .

She talked about the fans and how they'll miss Hotch and how Thomas was an important part of the show for so many years, but she didn't mention anything about the mood on set or how anyone was feeling.

She may not have wanted to get too specific or she's not allowed to get too specific. Since it's still fairly recent, CBS could be telling them to not mention anything. Or, maybe she didn't want to say anything so she doesn't upset fans? Like, if the mood is fine and they're not that upset, she's not going to say that and piss fans off.

But it's also possible she just didn't feel like discussing it or talking about it too much.

Ugh, I need to know what they're going to do to Hotch!

I wish she would have talked more about the new season as well.

At least one person on the cast, could tell us when they where told he was fired . what the cast reaction was .. They owe the fans that .

It's probably still too soon for any of them to speak out. Maybe later in the season or maybe not until the show is over.

If you don't mind a racy but funny animated show . We're doing the voice of lana on Archer , must watch . Her character is funny sexy kicks ass. Archer , in the US , normally airs on FX or FXX . Plus they normally run 5-6 ep a day .
