Lots of toilet paper shortages around here. A lot of boxed stuff like pasta was also running low. I was actually just trying to do my normal grocery shopping and not trying to stock up. What a bad time to run out of toilet paper :P Luckily I was able to find some.

People are being idiots, it's ridiculous.

Was out today , this visit to the grocery store. More for simple items I need . Don’t except any type of curfew or stay at home order. My job is the visit commercial properties and report any issues, outside work

BlondieLeigh 03-15-2020 02:01 PM

Really want this virus gone, tbh.

jls2971 03-15-2020 04:31 PM

Yeah it's pretty crazy.

The schools here might stay closed the rest of the school year. And all restaurants and bars are closing at 9 tonight and will only be take out/carry out for a while.

BlondieLeigh 03-15-2020 04:53 PM

They haven't even closed schools here yet. I know kids tend to not get so sick, but they're also more likely to carry it without symptoms, so...

jls2971 03-15-2020 05:56 PM

I think that was one of the main reasons they closed the schools here: because while they are less likely to get seriously ill from it, they could easily pass it to older family members

BlondieLeigh 03-15-2020 06:57 PM

It makes sense, tbh. I do volunteer work with kids, and that's still going ahead, we're taking so many extra precautions right now.

jls2971 03-15-2020 08:53 PM

Well hopefully you stay safe and healthy :)

On another board a few days ago, some people were talking about what we would do if we had to self quarantine for 14 days and how we plan to spend the down time we will have now. Just curious, how would everyone here spend this time?

BlondieLeigh 03-16-2020 02:00 PM

Volunteer job has been cancelled for the foreseeable effective tomorrow after the Government advised against all non-essential trips. I'm a little sad, but it's the right choice.

Read, write and make icons most likely, probably do a few puzzles. Maybe binge watch NCIS because I've never actually rewatched it.

jls2971 03-16-2020 03:51 PM

Yeah, it sucks to not be able to work and do the stuff we're used to doing, but it's for the best.

I'm also planning on doing some reading and writing. I have a book series I've been wanting to finish, so I guess I have time to do that now!

I also plan on going outside and walking, riding my bike, and walking the dog.

I'll probably watch some movies and TV shows as well. I'll catch up on a few programs I'm behind on and maybe try to find some new TV shows to watch.

NCIS is a pretty good show to binge watch!

BlondieLeigh 03-16-2020 04:13 PM

We're going to be given guidance tomorrow on delivering the program without meetings. This could be long term so I don't think we should shut down completely, we can send the kids activities.

There's always ways to manage the boredom.
