Yeah I saw that this morning & thought it sounded strange.

Someone in the FB comments pointed out these differences:

One video opens up with Carrie's lovely face instead of her on the trapeze and disappears, Carrie is seen sitting on the guys bed a few times where in the original video she doesn't, in the mane ball room where the staircase is the guy is seen walking up the stairs when he didn't in the main video. Carrie is also shown a little more where the staircase is. In the dressing room parts of this version shows that Carrie does not touch up her makeup like she did in the original one, she also looks at herself couple of times in a large merrier. But the big difference is the ending is that the guy grabs the empty trapeze bar right after Carrie disappears, and then it magically shows Carrie right back on the trapeze and the video ends. In the original video it ends with Carrie on the trapeze and then disappears. The other thing I noticed was that all the pictures of Carrie on the guys phone was totally deleted except for one new picture of Carrie on the trapeze which was not one of the pictures in the original video. Also the the part where the guy was leaning and walking along the wall has been totally deleted to
So seems like they did a few changes

Maybe they filmed it first, and for whatever reason, decided they didn't like it, so they filmed another version, and just released this one as an "alternate version".

I feel like they would've filmed lots of things then pieced the parts together. So some would've been left on the cutting room floor so to speak. Then this second one was made up using some of it. More than refilmed things. But that could be it too

They do not answer the question on why they released an alternative version, but they did confirm that Moulin Rouge was inspiration.
