This. It's annoying when people discredit her just because of Idol, as if it's easy to a) do well and actually win and b) have success afterwards. She deserves everything she's gotten because she worked for it and put out great music. Idol does not = instant success. Most of the winners serve as living proof.

That's part of what bugs me about the CMA crowd. Yeah, she's won a couple of awards there, but their response to her still seems a bit off. I'm not saying everyone has to love her, but at least give her some credit!

Definitely! There are very few Idol winners who have gone on to be very successful, and clearly Carrie has excelled the most in her career.

Like I said earlier, she's gone way beyond Idol. She doesn't need the association to be remembered, and I don't see the point of people constantly bringing it up. Yes, it's a part of her, yes, it helped launch her career, but focus on 'now' and not 'then'.

I like how she's still involved in Idol-related things, like appearing on the show, and isn't afraid to mention it.

yeah, I think it's still good for her to mention it and go back to sing on Idol and such, because it is what got her on her feet and started her career for her. I'm glad she never forgets to mention where she came from.

She's very loyal, which is one of the things that make her so great. But I still want people to stop mentioning AI all the time when talking about her. It's not necessary. We all know where she got her start, so why not keep the focus on where she is now? There's no need for a related backstory in every review, imo.
