Book Club Book for December: The Lovely Bones by Alice Sebold

Alright everyone, with six votes, The Lovely Bones won the book club vote for this month. So, here's the discussion thread. All spoilers are allowed. We're assuming that you've read the book before coming in here so keep that in mind. Personally, I won't be able to read this book until closer to the end of the month so it may take me a little while to become part of the conversation but don't think I've forgotten about you, I just have finals in a couple weeks.
That being said, enjoy, discuss, and take part in a great book (from what I've heard).

Yay, so glad we chose!
Kind of glad this one got picked even though I didn't vote for it because this way I already have the book in my collection. Now I just have to take it down off the shelf and re-read through.

I have this book and I've read it, but I don't really remember it too well. I might reread it or parts of it to be able to take part in the discussion.

I read this, but I am more than willing to discuss it so that it prepares me for the movie release.

I didn't see a thread for joining the Book Club. I hope it's okay that I take part in the discussion. I loved this book.

I've read this book ages ago, I have two copies, so I will join the discussion. When is the movie coming out? I heard that Mark Walhberg ended up as the dad. I can't wait for one of my favorite scenes -the murder club mystery to come to life.......

I saw someone reading this in my English class today and was like, eep! Love, love this book. It's been a while since I read it, so I'm planning on re-reading it once I get through finals.

Ooh -this comes at a great time. I just have been re-reading some of the Twilight books and was looking for something new. I will pick it up when I get a chance and come back for discussion!

November 2009... Yes, Mark Walhberg is the dad. Love him! He replaced Ryan Gosling - (they felt he was too young for the part and let him go within two days or two weeks of filming, don't remember the exact time) And Peter Jackson wrote the screenplay and is director. It should be really good then. He is a really talented filmmaker.

I just picked up my copy at the library today to re-read so I can remember exactly what happened.
