2012 Reading Goals!

2012 Goals

The Book Challenge typically features how much we'd all like to read for the year, but I thought other goals could be interesting to make as well!

This thread should mostly feature the goals you're making, and then we can all see how we did this time next year. (It won't be closed, but I just hope to avoid people changing it all the time--it's just for fun remember!)

Please feel free to make any goal you'd like!

It can be specific books that you'd like to get to this year, or maybe certain genres that you've been neglecting.

Anyway, just have fun!

I've never done a reading challenge before, and I definitely read too little. I only finished about 10 books in 2011. I get less and less patient when it comes to reading. There are a lot of books that I started but have never finished. Maybe it's high time for me to wander less online and invest more time to books.

I set my goal for 2012 at 30 books (10,000 pages). 25 fiction and 5 non-fiction, exclusive of books required by my major, and all of them in English. Hopefully I can do better next year than this year.

I've started to read A Clash of Kings yesterday. It is likely this is the first book I finish in 2012.

I don't really have a goal.. I just try to catch up with the books from my bookshelf and then read the upcoming 2012 books I am waiting for.

But.. I'll make a list of the books I need to read that I own. I'll post it in a few days

I just want to clarify in the OP, when I say no changes I mean please try not to remove goals. But feel free to make new ones!

I'm adding 5 non-fiction books to my list, which will probably be environmental.

I usually will do an unlimited amount of books to read, and then by the end of the year I see how well I have done.

My goal first off is: To finish the Outlander series but really my main goal is too: Read more really need to read more and get caught up on some series and start new series. Another goal is too: Buy more books

Amy I'm in LOVE with The Princess Bride, the movie. I read the book years ago but should re-read it

I also think I'll add 5 non-fiction books already got 2 that I want too read The Illiad/The Odyssey

The Book Challenge is for the amount of books, this thread is meant for the what is being read. Every year there are certain books or series that I want to get into, and some genres I don't read much, so this was a good reminder for me.

In that case.. I usually don't have a set books I plan to read.. I usually just go with what's on my bookshelf that I need to catch up on, and then upcoming books.

Whatever works

I'm adding some authors to my list. Not going to restrict the books in this case, I just want to get started

That can be debated, can't it Because "Trojan War" may have or may not have happened

I'd consider it myth or historic/classic, but whatever works for the reader
