I do remember in Elementary School that we did get to pick our own books for book reports but the teacher picked the genre (like that month we were had to pick a biography, or history, or a fiction book) but in middle school we started getting assignments. Thank you for the report and looking forward to the next one.  But it wasn't as extensive as high school. There we got 2-3 books assigned a semester. Quote:
