So if they already made a movie, then why is Netflix taking it on? Is the story that interesting enough for a series by Netflix?

I've seen the movie too, I quite enjoyed it from what I can remember. But I didn't know how many books there were.

Did the movie they to encompass the totality of the story or merely the first book?

Curious if the series will start afresh or reinterpret the novels. Is the movie of the same name?

'Wayward Pines' Creator Tapped to Adapt 'Darkest Minds' (Exclusive) - Hollywood Reporter

Minds was published December 2012 while the second book, Never Fade, was released in October 2013. Both were New York Times best-sellers. The final book, In the Afterlight, is due to hit stores October 2014.

With the hiring of Hodge, Fox is signaling a serious push into the YA field. The studio has YA adaptation The Maze Runner opening Sept. 19 and sees both Runner and Minds as franchise hopefuls.

Billy Rosenberg and Dan Cohen are overseeing Minds for 21 Laps.
