My mom has a best friend that she has had for years. But when my sis and I were kids, she didn't see that friend much at all. Like I knew she existed but only in the abstract.
Now they hang out more often since we've long left the house. Sometimes there isn't a bad reason---just life. __________________

Yes, but she unfollowed and likely blocked those friends. So i think xhe ended the friendship with different friends. But they also talked her into alcohol and drugs probably (that is just a feeling though). Eitherway she seems quite happy now with whomever she is friends now.
