Hello!

As you are aware, Joyce is stepping down as moderator of the Ashley Tisdale board. No need to go into details why, but you can read about her reasons here. Before Joyce informed me that she was stepping down, I was considering stepping down myself. I started a new job in September and my life & priorities have changed since then. I wanted to wait until after the 200,000 posts celebration and then I was going to submit my resignation to Joyce and the Moderator Managers, but Joyce beat me to the punch. Because of this, "everything has changed". I have decided to stay as a mod (for now), but unfortunately, nobody has applied for the new moderator position and there is no way I can moderate this board myself when I can barely give it the attention it needs with another moderator. Lately, Joyce and I have been the only ones posting in all the threads anyway, so if I was the only mod, we might not make the 15 posts a day we need to keep the board open.

Having said all that, I am asking you, my fellow posters and fans of Ashley, if you would like to keep the board open? If so, we need more consistent posting in ALL the threads, not just a select few and we need someone to step up and apply for the moderator position. If you're unsure if you even qualify, apply anyway! Tina said she will extend the application deadline, but after that, if no one has applied, I have already decided to voluntarily close the board (and Joyce has agreed with me on this). We think this would be the best decision for us and for the board. I DO NOT want it to come to this because I love posting on this board and I have loved being the moderator here for the last 2 1/2 years, but a board can not be run when no one is giving the time and dedication to it. I am in by no means pressuring any of you, I just wanted to let you know where I (and Joyce, 'til she steps down) stand. Please give any input to what you feel the future of the board should be. I would love to hear your thoughts! Thank you!

Uhm, yeah, I don't think I have anything to add to what Jess said in the OP. The reason why I wanted to step down is because I've felt a lot of pressure to post and keep the board going, and although I feel guilty now for stepping down, I do think it's for the best. It's not fair to anyone to keep a board going that barely anyone is interested in.

You guys need to let us know what you think. If we do close, we'll still have the HSM board and Zac Efron board to post about Ashley in threads related to her, and we can make a thread on the Celebrities board, but it just wouldn't be the same.

But yes, please let us know what you think. A solution to this problem would be greatly appreciated, because we both love the board a lot and it would be really sad if this really is the end.

this is sad but understandable you both have done so well and should be proud of this i just hope someone can take up the responablity and role of being a mod .. its not hard and you will get plenty support from other posters and mods

*UPDATE*

There have still been no applicants for the moderator position. I am torn between trying to moderate it on my own and voluntarily closing it down. If we keep the board open, I will need your help in posting here and keeping the threads active. The easiest & less stressful thing would be to close the board, but I don't want to let the posters down who still want to post on here, but I can't have all the pressure put on me to post here by myself.

I personally would opt for voluntarily closing down the board. Even if I don't want to completely let go of it, I would hate to see it die down and having to be closed down because of bad counts.

If nobody has responded by Monday to try to keep the board open, I am going to PM Jerry to let him know that we have decided to voluntarily close the board, as sad as that is. Ashley is really starting to become a huge star and I would hate to lose a place where she can be discussed and talked about, but with no active mods or posters, this is what needs to be done. Maybe in the future, her board can be opened again, but this might be what has to happen in the "now".
