I am sure he did feel a little safe because of W.B.

Hyde had a safety net once W.B. came into the picture. Even though Red clearly loved Hyde, he put his biological children first. If Hyde were to have done something Red thought put his kids in danger, Hyde was gone (as we see in "Reefer Madness" and "Misty Mountain Hop"). But W.B. wouldn't have given up on Hyde had he gotten busted for possession. Of course, W.B.'s attitude toward pot was completely different than Red's.
Eric's "thief" phase in S7 ... where he steals twenty bucks from W.B. ... oy. Especially because W.B. ended up giving all of Hyde's friends twenty bucks just because. __________________

W.B's attitude was very different towards pot than Red's that's for sure. I was glad Hyde had both him and Red in his life.

Even though the W.B. storyline in S7 is totally soap opera (and a desperate move on the writers' part), I do like the character (in S7). I wonder, however, how Hyde's live would've gone had Bud remained his biological father. He probably would've worked for Red at the muffler shop then eventually taken it over and expanded the business. Maybe he would've become a custom car maker with Jackie's support.

I do like the character of W.B. too. I think though Hyde might have stayed at the shop with Red if not for W.B.

So Hyde owns the Forman & Son muffler shop, and Eric never gets over the fact that Hyde's the "son" in the title. __________________

That would have been cute, sweet and funny to see.

Eric: Hyde, don't you think you should change the name of the muffler shop already?
Hyde: No. Why? Eric: Because it's called "Forman & Son". Hyde: So? Eric: So you're not Red's son. Hyde [smirking]: No, but I'm the son he always wanted. __________________

I can see that conversation happening.

I bet Eric might make it his mission to get Hyde to change the name. He might install himself in the shop, greeting everyone who walks in and announcing he's the son in Forman & Son. Hyde might call the cops on him (or cop!Kelso) to have him removed, and as Eric's being dragged from the shop, he shouts, "But I'm the son! I'm the son!" __________________

I can see Kelso dragging him and acting all cop like.

Do you think Hyde would want to live in the same town as Eric forever? Like if Eric and Donna moved to Chicago, would Hyde suggest he and Jackie do the same? __________________

I am not sure, I think Hyde and Eric would want to be close to each other, but would make decisions based on what's best for their own families.
