Ok, I've got a question. Did anyone go to the taping for That '70s Musical ( I think that's what it's called)

Hey
This would be a good place to post your meets and greets (if you don't want to do it in an actors or couple thread) and other things like non-spoiler bloopers or other cool things.

This would be a cool place to post all that, thanks for bringing it up Mila.
I'm de-topping this (we have the fill) but if anyone wants to bump it up again, they're more than welcome to. =) __________________

Hi
I thought of de-topping the newbie questionnaire, but figured we still get newbies. I figured with the new season starting filming today, people should see this thread on the front page.
I had no idea there was a limit to how many topped topics there could be. (but then again, I had no idea, we could only have four active game threads going, either) "bad" mod me Carol Quote:

That's fine, I didn't know either when I started but there's some info in the MHB. I'll PM you with the link. =) People posting here with their experiences should have it kept on the front page, no worries. __________________

Ok, WOW! This is so super super late in me finding this thread but I have had a few close encounters with the show. Especially with Topher.
I can’t believe I can remember all this!! Well really I just took it from my journal. LOL. The Velvet Rope August 6th, 1999 I first saw Laura Prepon as she was getting ready for the show she kept going from make up to stage and we happen to catch her and we spoke for a while, and as a true fan that I am I called her by her real name, not her character and she thought I knew her or something and we showed her our shirts that we bought. Then Kurtwood came out and saw us standing there and he came over to talk to us, I shook his hand and got a close up picture of him, he also was surprised at the shirts. When I asked him if I can get the shirt signed he said to give it to AU and they’ll all be happy to sign it. Then I got far away photos of Danny, Mila, Topher, Wilmer and Ashton. I did also get to talk to Debra and she mentioned that they go online and one of the fans said on That 70s Page owned by Fuchsia, that they were going to the show and she thought it was me. I guess it was because I talked about it a lot on different websites. When we got in we were known by a lot of AU pagers from BMW (the day before) and previous years. We were also guaranteed in with a universal ticket. We sat in second row and of course the shirts we bought and wore, quickly took notice to the cast and crew. (BTW those who don’t know David Trainer, directed BMW also) I guess they had no idea about them so they were really happy we wore them. (might I mention we were the only people wearing That ‘70s Show shirts that night) Holy Crap March 3rd, 2000 I went with a good friend. We got to the CBS studios, where they tape T7S and went in looking for the gift shop to buy some memorabilia. The girl who worked at the store told us (when we asked her) that we could walk around the studios, as long as we didn't go inside any of the buildings, did not disturb anyone and did not take pictures. So we happily set off and started walking until we arrived near the set of T7S and we saw Danny Masterson and he waved us hello and a bit later we ran into Debra Jo Rupp to whom we were lucky enough to speak to for about 30 seconds, but she had to go back to hair and makeup. But then, a security guard arrived in his little golf cart, saying he'd been looking for us and that we weren't allowed to be there. He escorted us back to the entrance, but we weren't in any trouble, thank goodness! Once we got back behind the gate, we could see VERY clearly the That ‘70s Show stage door, so we sat on the sidewalk and looked through the door. Very soon, a few celebs started walking around the stage door. Wilmer Valderrama and Ashton Kutcher were having fun with a unicycle and we got to take a whole bunch of pictures of them. Wilmer’s really good at it, he came and went, but Ashton kept falling off. Then Danny Masterson walked by and when we took pictures of him, he waved at us, really nice. We also saw Laura Prepon and Topher Grace. It was really great. We were in the back row in front of the Vista Cruiser. The set was, stage right to left, The Hub, the basement, the driveway with the Vista Cruiser, the kitchen and the living room. You could never guess how different it looks than on TV! Well, first, everything’s real and in 3D. The taping itself was very interesting. What I found really weird was when they moved from the kitchen scene to the driveway scene, they had to take a part of the wall away and add a part of the other wall. They also had a bunch of pre-taped scenes. Many of the scenes we saw at the tapings were cut off when aired on TV, though, and some of those were hilarious, but at least I saw them (too bad you didn't). Finally, when the show was over, they gave scripts and I was lucky enough to get one and some of the actors were signing them and I got mine autographed by Wilmer Valderrama, Topher Grace and Ashton Kutcher. But we finally were more or less forced to leave, so we did. Everybody Loves Casey March 29, 2002 OK the CLOSE ENCOUNTER of a lifetime!! I was going to McDonalds. (which everyone who has gone before knows its located across the street from Radford and Ventura) As I was crossing the street I wasn’t really paying attention to what was going on, and here comes a car about a foot away from where I was standing. At first I thought it was nobody but when I got a closer look at who it was. It was Topher Grace! I was wearing my T7S shirt (as I always do) so from that I am sure he knew I was going to the show. So it was a close encounter, very, very nice Heehee! Anyway with that, I was even more excited to get in. We got in at 5:30PM and we were able to sit in the front row! Again I was the ONLY one wearing a T7S shirt! What is up with that?? The lights went down at 6:30PM and they introduced the cast as always. The first scene was in the Forman’s Kitchen. They taped it in order of the airing. Except for the pre-tapes of the scene with the 360 shot, and get into that box scene, the boxing scenes with Kelso and Jackie. But most of it took place live! I felt so bad for Topher in this episode. I almost wanted to jump over the railing just to hug him. He looked so sad at times. I mean like take for example between one scene in particular, Topher stayed focused and seemed to be in his own little world and Ashton and Danny were messing around all taping long. The MC Ron was hilarious! (I hope that he will be the MC next time too He was very involved with the audience, which was nice. Wilmer came up to the audience to answer any questions any of us had. (I guess he always does that.) Throughout the night Ron was giving out scripts, shirts, and more memorabilia. It was only at the conclusion of the taping that I received a script. I got my shirt signed by everybody in the cast, except Debra. I got an extra autograph from Topher! Thank you Topher…too bad you didn’t hit me with your car, next time maybe! I'm so kidding, what would have been though? LOL All in all it was a great taping and it’s so much fun to know them a bit better than I did before. Thanks everyone associated with the show for making my experiences incredible as always !! I wish I could’ve gone to a few more! __________________

Thanks for sharing. It's the closest thing I'll ever get to being at a taping.
