 He would. At least Hyde's career is settled.

I did often wonder what major Eric would focus on.

Jedi-ism. Ah no, that would be the 'religion' he signs up with on campus, but it's actually a scam and he has to endure an angry speech by Red. :P

 Yes.

I have my headcanon about what Eric would eventually do, career-wise. But I've put it into a fic, and I don't want to spoiiiil. <--- I've said this before. Although, I have a feeling I might've spoiled it before, too. :look:

Grazzhopper 05-02-2017 10:13 AM

I feel like you spoiled it before, but I simply cannot remember. :look:

msstock87 05-02-2017 10:00 PM

I feel that way too.

Well, I'll just say I don't think it's anything near what the show shoehorned Eric into. I picked something that fits his personality and what little passions of his we see on the show.

That would be cool! I almost took a Medieval Torture class in college, 'cause it sounded super fascinating. And since Eric seems to like the idea of "the white knight" and "rescuing" Donna, and ofc all the fighting/action aspects of his SW obsession, something with a medieval flare might very well draw him in. Maybe even lead to him becoming a history major? That could be interesting! But like everyone said, he wasn't fleshed out enough to know his interests. All I can recall is him and Donna fighting over a history paper, and...maybe something came up about math? Can't recall. The running gag seemed to be that Red accused him of being stupid and lazy, so maybe Eric never brought up his interests for fear of being ridiculed. Oooor (more likely) it's just the writers being lazy. :P

I am really curious now because I don't remember if you have told me this or not.

Kendra, Eric and Donna wrote a joint paper on the Cold War together, and they disagreed on their thesis ... and it led to their own Cold War. :goof:

Eric was actually good at math (algebra, at least).

I could definitely see him being intrigued by the middle ages, especially the Arthurian tales. But I'm not sure he'd find a career in it.

He was so busy on the show dealing with his relationship with Donna and trying to get Red's respect / get out from under Red's thumb that we just don't get much more to who he is. The writers clearly didn't know, either. Hence, his storylines in season 7 -- trying to be an artist, a chiropractor, a butterfly catcher.

Colleen, I think I told you in private. I'll tell you again in private.

That sounds like a plan Lisa. :)

*will do it*

Do you think Eric would get insecure about Donna being hit on by guys in college? Even though he and Donna are engaged/married? (I'm thinking about this as if they went off to college together in season 6.)

msstock87 05-05-2017 08:53 PM

Oh I can totally see that happening!

MistyMountainHop 05-06-2017 07:32 AM

Eric might end up taking the same classes as her one semester to "keep an eye" on her.

He might also be jealous of Donna if he's not hit on by girls at college while she's hit on guys. They really need to work on some things.

 Probably.

They did have some issues that needed work, but issues aren't for laughs, so... :P
