But that's one (of many reason), imo, why she and Eric wouldn't work romantically. Eric wouldn't be able to challenge Jackie the way she needs to be challenged and vice versa for them both to grow. She'd enable his worse instincts, which would be to let her do all the work -- *ahem* -- while she's also overly critical of him. So, basically, being with Jackie romantically would be like him being with both his parents romantically.

Eric got to sit and eat candy while Jackie did all the work. As Eric would say, what' snot to like?

All Jackie would have to bring up is President Ford's whistle stop at Point Place and Eric streaking through it ... although if she witnessed the event, she shut her eyes before she saw anything frontal on Eric (otherwise, she wouldn't have asked Donna what it looked like in a later episode ).
