Top Five Characters I'd Want to Learn a Skill From

1. Uhura (from Star Trek: Strange New Worlds.)

She's a master linguist who thinks outside the box (or spaceship), and I love linguistics.


2. Kitty Forman (from That '70s Show)

Cooking. She makes great food, and I think she'd be good at teaching others how to make it (save Jackie, who's apparently hopeless at baking ).


3. Bobbie Yang (from Rutherford Falls

They have an impeccable sense of style. I might not want to dress how they dress (as great as their fashion is), but they could help me take the vision I have in my head and a) help me find clothes that fit it and b) refine my style without losing any of its coolness.


4. Captain Janeway (from Star Trek: Voyager)

Basically, everything this woman knows. Not just the practical (like science) but the inner elements that make her a great leader.


5. Inigo Montoya (from The Princess Bride)

Fencing. Inigo is beyond a master fencer (has the fictional title of wizard fencer in the book, and wizard fencers are extremely rare). He studied for a decade with masters from across the world, learning all kinds of skills (physical, mental, and emotional) to become virtually unbeatable in any circumstance on any terrain (including ice floes).

I love that you put Nu!hura (see what I did there?) on the list, I so look forward to watching the show.

Some would say that baking isn't cooking and maybe that's the issue. I do think learning how to cook from Kitty would be great though.

Janeway. Yes. All the things. Be my mother figure slash mentor and teach me everything.

She's a great character, and she's well-acted. And Nu!hura -- nicely done.

True enough. Baking is more science-y with precise measurements whereas cooking one can go more by feel / taste.

I guess we'll both be her mentees.

She does enjoy velocity, so probably her sports team. She's even played it with other manatees of hers, like Seven of Nine.

To be a bit more on topic, I plan on doing my list when I'm back from my trip.
