I think he tried to project everything he hated about the UES onto her, but you look back as early as 1x04 & he knew there was a lot more there. He knew how vulnerable she really was, & that everything else was mostly an act. Plus, I think he always really respected her intelligence.

Yeah, I agree. I think she secretly enjoyed their bickering as well because he was sharp tongued himself.
It seems weird how he dedicated a book to her at a time when Serena was supposedly love of his life |

Oh yeah, she respected his intelligence too & I think they were both a little threatened by each other in that way too
I think he didn't realize the book was about her for a long time __________________

Yeah, they were on the same level intellectually and that's why they were the only people who could compete with each other
That is an interesting theory. But he knew he was writing about UES, it wasn't just some random story. Maybe he edited it later |

I still can't believe how meaningful Dair had become. Who would have thought that Blair Waldorf would end up being the love of Dan Humphrey's life?

I know. Actually, I rarely ever ship couples that the shows are pushing, those big epic romances

Agreed. And they keep having those repetitive conversations about how they are or were meant to be. Especially those couples who had history together, the just keep going and going on about their undying love and how it ruined them, and I'm just like"Move the hell on already!"

I know, it's awful, and this typical "I will always love you"

So true! Nothing lasts forever in this world. Not even love. People move on all the time. I mean, that's how it is in real life, they think they are forever and then they break up in a few months/years, but when those couples on tv shows can't move on from each other after 10+ years it makes me cringe.

Exactly, you keep changing you're whole life, you don't get to 18 & that's who you are forever. & you do move on - I think that when people are shown to be incapable of moving on from a relationship in a tv show, that generally says more about who they are as an individual, & not how 'epic' their love was.
