♔ "We love her because she's not afraid to take risks. Whether it's from clothes to shoes to the roles and characters, she is always trying something new." - adjjb

♔ "I love Leighton because she's beautiful inside and out and she's incredibly talented." - ErinlovestheOC

♔ "I love Leighton mainly because she's by far one of the most genuine and down-to-earth famous people I 'know'; and she can be the cutest and sillest in the most adorable way yet stay totally classy, and she's so damn talented that I just can't help but fangirl over her like a boss. And I don't think I even have to mention how flawlessly gorgeous she is." - Fall Out Girl <3

♔ "I love Leighton because she brings everything she has to all her roles, I always feel for her characters, she's beautiful, talented, and kind." - Freefall

♔ "I love that she's so enthusiastic and dedicated to promoting the show, even after four seasons, and that she loves CB just as much as we do." - glutton01

♔ "She's just this amazing good hearted person. She's down to earth, she's intelligent, and she knows what she wants and she goes for it, Leighton is an amazing actress, singer, model, and role model. She's the kinda actress that you look up to and want to be and she's just so beautiful and flawless. My girl crush." - vale decem

♔ "I love Leighton Meester mostly because she's very down-to-earth, the sweetest to her fans and a great role-model, and of course the shallowness in me must say that I love her also because of her utter gorgeousness and her soothing voice - she's pleasant to my eyes and ears." - ripe to fall

♔ "Leighton is a confident woman. She knows who she is. She's a hard worker. Her talent is deep, but her character is deeper. She deserves all the success in the world." - TotalDenial

“Leighton is, I mean she’s a wonderful actress, you know it’s so great to be able to work with her in this film. Her voice is incredible. For everybody to get to come down and see her abilities and the work she puts in her character. I mean Leighton is wonderful. It was a great…great experience.” - Garrett Hedlund

“It was actually the most fun I had had on the show in a while. It was something new for my character, and I was having fun with the rapport, and I think my dialogue benefited from it. It was actually a lot of fun to work with Leighton. I hadn’t much. We were like the only two who had never really interacted.” - Penn Badgley

"Brilliant, funny, creative. Her mind is like a computer — she can play multiple things at once and she has expert timing. Remarkable skill and a wonderful singer as well. A great friend and I think her career has no bounds. I can’t wait to see what she does next." - Norman Buckley

"I'm madly in love with Leighton, so that's what helps on my behalf, maybe so much that she doesn't even have to be in love with me. I love enough, she's mine. I'm incredibly close with her, she's a lovely girl." - Ed Westwick

"Leighton is fantastic, she is nuts. I love that and we had a lot of fun on set." -Hugo Becker

“What makes Leighton so attractive is that she’s very confident. She’s confortable in her own skin and she’s not trying to win anyone’s approval, which is sexy. She’s also really intelligent and has a great sense of humor. I feel like I have an odd sense of humor and she does, too. We’re both kind of weirdos.
When you’re hanging out with her, you’re free to do anything. She doesn’t judge. Leighton was born in the wrong generation. She should have been born in the ’70s because she’s very free-spirited. If people would be shocked by anything about her, it’s how nice she is, how personable. And obviously, she’s gorgeous.” - Chace Crawford

She [Leighton] is a firey beast. And I mean that in the most sexy, endearing way possible. I think she walks out of that house unscathed. And the house probably blows up as she walks away in slow motion… like a rap video. - Aaron Tveit

"I really wanted Leighton because she's such an incredible actor and she's also incredibly beautiful so the combination for me was just perfect. She's the perfect girl to me, really, truly." - Vera Wang

♔ "I don't want to have a friend unless I can call them one of my best friends. You'll never hear me say, 'This is my friend.' I'll be like, 'This is one of my best friends.' I want somebody to be really close and cool. I like going on vacations with my friends and having them come over and bake cookies or watch TV."

♔ "I don't want fame. I don’t want that for my life. I want to grow as a person and as an actor and that’s what’s important."

♔ "I really came to realize -- and it's the best advice that will come out of the end of this show -- that high school is not the end, it is not the best, it is not the only. You will have a whole life afterward, if you're lucky. If you're unlucky, then the only thing you'll ever feel is how fun it is at your prom."

♔ "I think love changes you over time, and whether you have good or bad experiences, you always grow and learn from it. And if I shut love down or didn’t let it in, I would just be this really cold, sad person."

♔ "You can't judge anyone for what they've done, because people change."

♔ "I love New York. You're never alone, but you're always on your own."

♔ "Whoever said that money doesn't buy happiness didn't know where to shop."
♔ "Here's my advice. Have a little faith, and if that doesn't work, have a lot of mimosas."

♔ "Haven't you heard? I'm the crazy bitch around here."

♔ "I'm not a stop along the way. I'm a destination."

♔ "The most important parties to attend are the one's you're not invited to."

♔ "You're kinda not invited."

A couple of new things:

A nice HD version of Leighton, James and Chris's interview on The View (it's weird that The View uploaded such low quality ones. I dunno what that was about lol)

And this brand new pic from the photographer Dustin Cohen:

You can reblog it from him here (he has nice portraits of James and Chris too!):

From my review of the play:
Quote:
As for Leighton, I thought she did an amazing job. Chris steals the show so much, though, that it’s easy to focus on him during the big one-on-one scenes between Lennie and George and between Lennie and Curley’s wife. However, she still holds her own, particularly during her final scene with Lennie, and her eavesdropping and then bursting into the bunkhouse in a huff over George calling her a tart was perfect. Just the right note of anger and desperation.

I thought Leighton’s accent was good, and I loved how much compassion and depth the brought to the character. I remember finishing the book and being angry at Curley’s wife for ruining Lennie and George’s dream, but Leighton brought so much more to the role that my sadness was more equitable. Curley’s wife talking about her dreams and her memories with her daddy brought tears to my eyes, and I really bought into the innocence of her looking for a friend, for someone to talk to rather than viewing it as a desire to step out on her husband and cause trouble.

My only quibble was the order of her costumes. She wears this rather demure green dress in the first scene (and then later with a yellow sweater) so it is hard to believe that George took one look at her and decided she was a tart. Even with the long slit, she shows no leg or cleavage or anything that would make me think she was ****ty or giving the ranch hands “the eye”. I kept trying to see a particular look on Leighton’s face that would constitute “the eye” but she did a great job of making sure I could always see her facial expressions from the balcony so I don’t think I missed it. Personally, I liked that her “tartiness” wasn’t forced upon you, that you could see her as a real person, but I would have switched the red dress she wears in the second act with the green one in the first in order to make it more believable that George saw her as a tart. Not for her characterization or for the story but for George’s characterization. A man who loves and accepts Lennie but is so quick to condemn Curley’s wife yet doesn’t condemn her when she dies leaves this weird dichotomy between his characterization that is never addresses and kind of tints the final scene.

I should also say that I loved Jim Norton, who played Candy, and Jim Parrack, who played Slim. Candy is the only character to blame Curley’s wife for ruining the dream of owning a piece of land with rabbits that Lennie takes care of and that was kind of hard to hear given how well Leighton sold Curley’s wife as a woman just desperate for a friend with her own dreams. But I could also understand his desperation to leave the ranch, and you could tell Jim is a veteran of the stage — he never forgot where his audience was.

Overall, I loved the play and thought it was well-directed and well-acted. The sets are amazing; one of my favorites I have ever seen on Broadway. The transition from one scene to the next is flawlessly done, particularly after Curley’s wife died and they carried her off stage rather than having Leighton get up and walk off, and the set for the bunkhouse feels incredibly real.
I don't think Leighton was planning on signing autographs or taking pictures given the way one of the security guards stood in the door before her, the two outside hurried over around her, and someone else rushed up to her waiting town car to open the door for her. But I think she was genuinely taken aback by the size of the crowd waiting an hour after the play ended for her; she did a double-take when she walked out, stopped, and had a surprised look on her face.

Leighton signed autographs for the group of people on the other side of the barricade. She didn't have a pen or Sharpie with her (another reason why I don't think she was planning to stay) and ended up taking a pen offered to her by someone in the crowd. But given everything I've heard about how she makes of point of introducing herself to everyone she works with and how nice she is to fans, I was not at all surprised to see her double back through the crowd, call after the mother and daughter who handed it to her, and return the pen to them.

I brought three Sharpies of different colors with me just in case so I dug one out of by bag when I saw she was headed over towards the barricade I was standing at and held it out to her. I guess one of the security guards gave her a Sharpie because she had one by the time she got to me and said "I have one, but thank you" as she signed my Playbill.

I told her that I loved her performance, was so happy that she was able to try Broadway, and hoped this would really help her career. She thanked me for coming and said she was enjoying being on stage. I didn't catch exactly what she said then because she talks so quietly and I have some hearing loss, but I did ask her if we could take a picture. She said yes and then stepped to the side so we could take one together.

And then I mucked the whole thing up. Seriously, worst selfie picture ever. And all because I wanted a "nice" picture with my Nikon rather than taking one with my ****ty camera phone. I thanked her for the picture before looking at it and then burst out laughing when I looked at it after she moved away. I was just so excited and shaking too hard to properly take a photo, but at least I can share it with you all now and have a funny picture to go along with meeting her.

She signed a few more Playbills and took a few more pictures before heading to her car, waving goodbye, and leaving. One thing I did not expect was how tiny she would be. I mean, I knew she's five inches shorter than me but she is so skinny and has such delicate fingers and features. You can tell by her face that she's not unhealthy skinny, but when she turns to the side and you see her in profile it is kind of shocking.

But she is so sweet -- how many actors would make a point of returning a pen?!? -- and I had a really nice interaction with her. My bff, who went to the play with me, stood towards the back of the crowd and said she was shocked at how long Leighton stood there talking to me and how she made a point of stepping to the side next to me so we could take a picture together. (My bff was also surprised that I didn't go mute or "word vomit" on Leighton, but not at all surprised that I mucked up the picture.) Such a classy, sweet, and lovely woman, and I'm so proud to call myself a fan of Leighton.

Thanks for the pics, Em. I know I've said this several times, but I love how attentive Leighton is to whoever is speaking.

Thanks, cK. It was my pleasure to share. I thought I'd be more upset about the messed up selfie, but I actually laugh every time I see it and I'd rather have the interaction I had than a selfie like the ones people were getting with James Franco.

It would have been nice if my bff could have stood beside me, but the crowd was pretty thick and she had to step away when someone lit up a cigarette and started smoking next to her in the crowd. Oh well. Still a wonderful experience.

I'm such a proud mama it's gross. I spent most of the train ride down to NYC regaling my bff with all of Leighton's recent accomplishments and the latest reviews. Pretty sure she wanted to murder me by the second hour. But she also loved the play and thought Leighton was great.

Out of everyone on stage, I think Chris has the best chance of getting a Tony. I'm not a fan of James so I don't mind missing him.

That's great (and totally what I would do).

Out of the people on stage it seems like Chris has the best chance to win. The set decorator may score a nomination too.

YES! I hope they do. The sets were amazing. Such great transitions, too.
