It's not my least favorite episode, but one of my least favorite arcs would link into 8x01 and what we talked about in the last thread:

The reveal that Brandon had kept a box of photos of him and Tracy made zero sense. Terrible lack of continuity. A flimsy excuse for Kelly to get angry over nothing and have a reason to a) not go to Hawaii but then b) change her mind and go out of jealousy.

Brandon made it clear in Season 7 that he felt his relationship with Tracy was a mistake because they "screwed up a great friendship." 8x01 goes and changes history in that sense. :eyebrow:

Personally think the first 10 episodes of the season was fine, then Brandon kind of "got lost somewhere" ;)

Hmmm.

I liked watching the gang struggle a little to gain their footing in a post-college world.

I loved seeing Andrea back and getting to take center stage one last time in Reunion. Love the chem between Brandon, Kelly and her in that epi and some consequential Brandrea scenes.

Donna looks great.

I forgot that they brought back Dylan's half-sister Erica in this season  (albeit clearly played by a different actress)

Yes and her pimp Riggs - I didn't mind that story either - it was straight after that when our wonderful Brandon went into another kind of journalism ;)

How on earth could Brandon go from father figure to gross cheater in a matter of a few episodes?

Ugh, Season 8, how I detest thee.

HipHopKingMike 07-30-2019 02:13 PM

I tend to make a joke out of that storyline. As bad as it was, sometimes it is best to make it lighthearted - it was a flash with a quick dash and a smash with the trash with no cash or maybe a cut price slash ;)

Crystal Clear 07-30-2019 02:21 PM

I don't think Kelly saw the funny side :spank:

HipHopKingMike 07-30-2019 02:33 PM

No she didn't.

But in the end of the day, we know why this story happened and knew it was unrealistic given the platform they had in previous seasons.
It was gross but hey I might as well make it lighthearted

Crystal Clear 07-30-2019 02:36 PM

I share your sense of humor in many things but this is too detestable for me to laugh at

I just hated it. I hated that Brandon did it, I hated how smug Emma was, I hated that she was basically the cliche bunny boiler who taped his confession, I hated how it was a pointless one-nighter done to ensure that Kelly and Brandon were put off the idea of marrying each other. :irked:

HipHopKingMike 07-30-2019 02:42 PM

It is detestable and dreadful but what's done is done. Awful storyline but nothing can be done so I guess I just make it lighthearted. But I did find that Emma chick hot and I know a few guys who thought she was quite hot

Crystal Clear 07-30-2019 02:45 PM

If 90210 was made today, Emma probably would have been stalking Kelly, not Brandon. ;)

HipHopKingMike 07-30-2019 02:49 PM

I would have enjoyed that

I'm sure :smirk:

Still wish they had kept Hillary Swank and her on-screen son around for longer. It was interesting to watch Steve try and be a parent.
