Favorite Season 1 episode and why?
I always liked The 17-Year Itch and how it finally focused on the lives of the parents. Their feelings, their motives, their drama, their confusion - and how it affected Brandon and Brenda who were trying to intervene on something which they didn't understand. __________________

I am not sure if I have one favorite. I like many. Let's say it's these...
Slumber Party - so dark, so serious, and a great bonding between the girls. I also appreciate how they went deep into the girls being mean to each other, and sort of enjoying each other's humiliation. And then the whole thing strengthen their friendship. Spring Dance - a great gang episode. Very funny, with some serious moments about Steve, and Kelly. Brenda/Dylan being super happy. Isn't It Romantic - the start of Brenda/Dylan, already so intense, and with so many things that stayed characteristic for them for entirety of their interaction. Chemistry in spades! I also loved Steve's subplot about AIDS. Maybe it was all preachy altogether... but somehow it wasn't. It felt real, convincing and charming. I also love Perfect Mom, Higher Education, Gentle Art of Listening, B.Y.O.B., It's Only a Test, Fame Is where You Find It, Weekend in Palm Springs, Home Again. __________________

I think ISN'T IT ROMANTIC? is considered a classic episode
and rightfully so. I do feel that Dylan was immediately lifted to heartthrob status thanks to that episode, and the chemistry between him and Shannen was palpable. __________________

This episode and the Spring Dance are the two episodes that really take reaction from the public etc. |

Spring Dance probably had the most memorable scene of the whole show (Dylan and Brenda in the hotel room)
and I admit, I still get goosebumps watching it because of how tender he is with her in that scene and the playfulness of him swinging her over to the bed It really set them up as the OTP and even Jason Priestley said during the 2003 cast reunion that it's the scene most fans remember as the defining point of the show. __________________

Yeah.
I am pretty sure that in that episode David kisses one of the girls they brought into the house. That would be his first onscreen kiss. And Donna kissed some guy in B.Y.O.B. S7 rewrites about the two of them being each other's first kiss? No. I was sure he was nor hers, but I am sure now of vice versa too. __________________

Ha ha, I feel as if the writers just hoped none of the fans cared about continuity by season 7 of the show
They did something similar with how they changed the romantic history of Kelly and Steve in 7x02 __________________

The Steve/Kelly retcon of s7 made me swear off everything s7 on. What does the writers think the viewers are, idiots? I bet even the most casual viewer would know that there was something funky about that scene.

Yeah. They said those two broke up in Spring Dance and they slept together only once, right? Way to insult the audience and everyone around.
And that "Steve spread rumors about Kelly' SL. Pointless. Everyone was spreading rumors about her. We saw that. He also said it in S3 already. Ross Weber definitely started it before he did. But in any case, we saw in S1 that Steve was a notorious ****-shamer. He was commenting on sex with Kelly to David in the pilot already, and in One on One he suggested to Brandon that Donna was a big ****. Then again, Donna was not written as an angelic virgin in S1, but still. It was not his business. __________________
