There are some sweet quotes from seasons 3 and 4 that would make great titles for future threads, might be worth updating the OP at some point to remind ourselves of them

We need to revamp OP. But I am not the right person for that

I wonder why we were so slow with this thread. I mean, the discussion is very good. Maybe we were slow because for a long time this friendship was supposed to be discussed as a part of Kelly/Donna/David, but that thread also got stuck on #2 or so... forever.

It sucks because they had some of the most intense and interesting scenes together. Case in point -- the one you posted above my post, where he confesses he was on drugs whilst looking after Erin.

Perhaps the thread is slow because people mostly used the season discussion threads to talk about them.

Just noticing the "KLF" sign in the background in those Highwire caps. They had a great song, "3:00 A.M. Eternal", which is just the kind of sound that would come from David's radio booth.

Yes, it's remarkable to think about how dynamic their relationship became. David was a far cry from seeing Kelly as this fantasy girl image when he broke down about his drug use and asked for help. She really became a true sister and everything in between.

Two of my favorite scenes are when Kelly asks him if he's on drugs earlier in the day, barking at him and closing with a hug all in the same scene, and later when they're at the park and she scolds him for wanting to spoil Erin with ice cream after running away toward the truck. "Alright, I'll be back in an hour -- take care of your brother."

I cannot believe we were deprived of more of that great Kelly/David/Erin dynamic. What a lovely trio.
